My childhood friend, Natalie, has a life that looks a little bit different.
She's living with her family on an island in Sweden called Gotland, where tourists from all over the world come to experience the Medieval Festival Week and the mile long beaches every summer while taking a break from reality. People come there to enter a different world, a tiny little paradise in the otherwise dark and cold Sweden, like an oasis.
The thing about Natalie is that she has a mother who's living with terminal cancer. And while they might live right in the eye of paradise, they're fighting each day. They're fighting every single day to get through all the treatments and to pay the bills, the medicines, the vitamines and everything else that follows this fucking illness.
And it started to break Natalie to see her mother like that; slowly fading away in every way, with no more hope to hold on to. It was like seeing her walking right into a tunnel without an end, a tunnel that only got darker and darker with each step she took, with each treatment she had to go through.
So Natalie decided to do even more than she's already doing. She decided to give hope and started making some bracelets with the classic phrase "fuck cancer", as a way to cheer everyone up.
But it didn't stop there, because the amazing Natalie has now started an entire business out of this. Her business is called Buy Hope, where she makes gorgeous hand made bracelets, necklaces, earrings and tassels etc. in a try to help her mom and to give the world a little bit more hope.
Let's support Natalie and her mom, Sandra, and fight terminal cancer together!
