Titus understood that the Emperor wanted the former Prince of Tenebrae trained. He might not be as important as the young Oracle, but he would certainly be useful if he would comply. What Titus didn’t understand was why he had to be the one to train him. Sure, as Glauca he had a reputation as their greatest warrior, but his time was split between Lucis and Niflheim. Then there was the fact that he’d been the one to kill the boy’s mother.
Then again, perhaps that was the very reason he’d been chosen. Fear was a useful tool to keep someone obedient. Perhaps he hoped that fear would overrule hatred. Either way, Titus was stuck with the job and if Ravus didn’t show satisfactory results, it would look bad on him. Since he was only around for a day or so, he needed to make this session count. They’d been at it for hours and Titus had no intention of stopping any time soon.
“Again,” he grunted as he roughly disarmed the boy once more, knocking his blade to the ground. “If you don’t come at me with the intent to kill, you’re never going to stand a chance.”
“I know you want to. I killed your mother, after all. I’m the reason your life was turned upside down. You hate me. Use that hatred.”
