aksel's approach certainly works, to a certain extent. sarah just thinks that sometimes these kids need a slightly gentler approach to solving their problems. and while she might not anything close to the new therapist he thinks esme needs so bad, maybe she can get somewhere with her. "i've got a question for you. that boy you've been talking to," tries to keep it casual and nonconfrontational, keeps putting the dishes away as if this is a normal conversation. like approaching a scared stray cat. "you decide yet what you're doing about him? gonna keep hanging out with him?" not quite sure how to be more indirect with the question.

"y'ever think about putting these loose in a big bowl or something?" he asks, popping up onto his tiptoes to look over the shelf between them and shaking a little plastic box of dice like a maraca. he doesn't actually have much business here. just comes in when he has free time to visit ( annoy ) birdie and look at ( touch ) anything new and interesting. unfortunately for everyone just trying to shop, he shows up and makes as much noise as possible. "could do like. you ever seen those tiktok lives where they give you a random scoop of shit for fifty bucks? something like that." he's pretty sure most of those are actually scams. he's not saying they should scam people directly, but ... "or like those bins of tumbled rocks they sell at gift shops for some reason. like that."
