Monet was holding it together pretty well, considering she was pretty sure they weren't going to make it at this point. The sun was starting to set, and while she could've probably made it on her own, there was no way to get her grandmother over the threshold before those creatures came out of the woods. And they moved fast, Monet knew. When Riley approached, the younger of the two women was still speaking gently to the older, but there was desperation in her tone still.
"Thank you," Monet said to Riley, taking her grandmother's cane so he could carry the woman. On the bright side, she was pretty frail these days, so Monet felt confident that Riley could hold her weight.
