Bythos

I zoned out for a while and a while became a few days somehow since my last ramble. To give myself a break, I designed one of the Ichthyocentauri (because that's not exhausting at all)

I love Bythos more than Aphros and he has no myths/mentions by himself like Aphros does lol (Truly it stems from me feeling bad because of it and then clinging to him)

From what I could tell, in mosaics, he's always the older Ichthyocentaur, being depicted with a beard majority of the time. I don't think they're supposed to be twins(?) but they probably are. Either way I made Bythos older.

Design is based on @sapocipo's work because drawing is hard

I've always liked this mosaic of one of em:

because I liked the tail shape. It reminded me of a flower and the spikes of thorns.

His colors are loosely based on the marbled rock crab, and I won't lie, it's because of one image of the crab blowing bubbles and I found it cute (so Bythos blows bubbles now).

It's also to contrast Aphros (whenever I make him) in being more bright/vibrant colors.

(doin some character design philosphy with these guys in colors and shapes lol don't mind me)

I want Aphros and Bythos to be different, and since they're thought to be wise teachers like their brother Kheiron, I thought it'd be fun for them to specialize in different things. Bythos being combat (hence the body damage). His lower half is also longer than Aphros' will be (and overall more bulky)

The sea deities I draw just end up having more braids and beads lol

Just out of curiousity, but how did you come up with the names for your aphrodite fankids?

I'm embarrassed to say that it was a lot harder than I had wanted 😭

At first it was my main oc Aphroula, she was initially named Alluras but when I was naming her twin Ophelion I was like.. hey why does she not have a Greek name, that's not fair

And then I had to get creative because for some reason, trying to find names derived from Aphrodite is so DIFFICULT (I've been obsessed with Aphrodite for a while so I was determined to have a name that was derived from her for my main-oc-that's-kinda-my-sona, no exceptions), so I went by suffixs/diminutives

It's also something I made canon that Aphrodite gave her this name herself as a token of being one of her favorites

You can also pair this with the ongoing joke that since Aphros named Aphrodite that way with his own name, it makes it seem like it's kinda passed down in a funny way

For Ophelion.. Well I didn't have an exact focus on how, his name was easier because him and Jason Grace sorta were meant to mirror Medea and Jason but good ending (?) except Jason dies anyway but I figured this name was the most suitable whether or not he's connected to Jason

Though, there's also this one I did recently as one of his alternative names to match Aphroula's (so the twins seemingly look like they are named after Aphrodite's sea uncles that cared for her during her sea days I think it's cute) but it's his other main names like how Aphrodite sometime is referred to as Kythera and alike

I really don't want to change his official name it's been a year and a half 😭 getting Aphroula to change her name was already a headache

I tried to look for an alternative Greek name that fits Aphroula to match with Ophelion (Cuz Aphros-Bythoulis and if we follow this alphabetical pattern then for Aphroula it's N-Ophelion) but no name starting with N fits her ... so for now she won't have an alternative name

Soo- I haven't posted in a while but hey here's some art for a totally unrelated fandom

Yeahh- I haven't lived for a while on here but hey! I'm kinda vibin' at least! As of late, I've been extremely hyperfocused on the Trauma Center series! I used to have an account that posted a variety of sketches of the main big bads (like GUILT, Neo-GUILT, Stigma, etc.) but I ended up deleting it sadly... For now however I'll just post this little silly here! Mostly drawing some of the Neo-GUILT from memory (and in a slightly silly context since they're kinda stuck in a set of jars being studied and they do NOT like it...) (Unfortunately exculding Aletheia because I have no idea how to draw her...)

Also! Bonus Sige for ya because Sige be my beloved and my favorite out of the quartet!

I need to get used to drawing them again because HOO was I rusty with these fellas </3 Anyhoo, time to vanish again for another 100 years, peace
