Content in the knowledge that those she cared for were safe from harm, Rosalie saw little reason to leave her home. The others were formulating plans of retaliation. Occasionally she’d comment in the group chat, but mainly the vampire reserved her energy for healing. Even after the blood that Claude kindly brought to the former Hideout, Rose still had much to heal. Her own blood supply rationed for herself and the rest of the vampires until a more permeant solution could be found or Ikaros’ feeders came through. Thus she could hardly gorge herself on blood or find a vein to open to speed up the process. The entire ordeal left Rose feeling ridiculously vulnerable and almost human again.
Expecting no company, she ignored the incessant chiming of the doorbell. If they were a friend, they should know better than to drop by unannounced. Frankly it was rude to expect her to play hostess in her current condition. Her skin still shed like a snake with ever evening or bad. Never would she wear a beaded dress to a formal event without full details again. When the knocking began, she ignored that too. At least she did until it sounded as if the person on the other side wished to break the door down. It was so difficult to find quality cedar in Calamity. For the sake of her interior design, she dragged herself from her bed, draping a dressing gown around herself. She opened the door, arching a brow at the man on the other side. “What?”
