When her parents had said they’d hired Sebastian a tutor, Serena was expecting a creepy, soulless accountant plucked straight from their creepy, soulless company. But instead, Tom showed up. She’d only seen him at a handful of parties, and in one of her classes — but he was cute. And seemed nice enough to patiently handle her little brother. Despite being given numerous instructions by her family not to annoy their guest, Serena couldn’t resist the opportunity to at least try and make a friend. “Thomas — or Tom, do you prefer Tom?” She asked, peering in to the study. “This is from my parents.” Handing over a thick envelope, she took a seat next to him at the desk. “Was Seb alright? He can be a pain sometimes, but I think he really likes you — it’s the first time he hasn’t complained about learning mitosis.”
