“Francesco!” Lucia called out, gathering skirts in hand and making her way to him. She’d be lying if she said she wasn’t happy to see him, though her face remained utterly stoic. Just because she was relieved, it didn’t mean others had to know about it. Once she reached him, she peered up into his face, eyebrow raising in a silent question as to why exactly he was there. “It seems we both find ourselves on the wrong side of the gates. Will they not let you pass, either?”
