he had gotten the call from the doctors this morning, they had urged him to come in to give him his test results in person, and he had been sitting on the floor of his apartment ever since, reading over the medical terms over and over again, like he didn’t understand them, but he did. He felt like he couldn’t breathe, he thought when he finished Chemotherapy two years ago it was over, they ensured him that it was highly unlikely it would come back, they had high hopes he would stay in remission, yet here he was learning that his cancer was back and Monday he would be starting Chemotherapy, it still hadn’t sunk in, the reality of the situation hadn’t hit him yet, he didn’t have the heart to call his mom, he remembered how worried she was the last time, and he just couldn’t tell her yet. So instead of calling her, he called the one person he needed in this moment, asking them to come over like he always did, he knew they would drop everything for him in a heartbeat, and right now he needed them more than anything. Yet he had told them he was in remission, it wasn’t a secret, but he didn’t know how to even begin that conversation with them. He heard a knock on the door and he folded up the piece of paper shoving it in his pants pocket, he went to get up but he felt frozen in his spot because he was so nervous, so eventually just called out “It’s unlocked, come on in I’m in my bedroom.” He was sitting on the floor in front of his bed instead of sitting on his bed, and he just sat and waited staring at his unnaturally white wall, waited for them to join him, as he tried to piece his mind together to come up with a way to tell them this, a part of him scared he could potentially lose them if they couldn’t handle something like this, but he had every right to know if they still wanted to be apart of Hudson’s life. He heard the door and he turned seeing them a soft sad smile spreading across his face “Umm... hi?”
