The perfect autumn evening brought a slow breeze causing fallen leaves to swirl about cyclonically before dispersing and landing in the tall grass. Frankly, he was glad to be away from the busyness of the town and out in an open meadow with a friend. Skye had all but beat Liv to the car before she could ask twice about taking the ride to the countryside for some star gazing. At the mention of her mother he nodded. Undoubtedly, the wisdom which had fallen from his lips had been passed down as well from his own.
Playfully bouncing at her nudge he smiled, “You’re mother sounds like a wise woman.” Shifting his gaze from the night sky to an equally as holy sight– the woman sitting next to him. There was something to be said about a beautiful woman under the caress of moonlight. He was about to go on about how about the stars but he could see she was already convinced. With the suggestion of a beverage, he nodded, “Sounds good.”
Something in his gut told him that Liv had an ulterior motive for their impromptu ride. Leaning forward he rested his arms on his knees as he caught her profile in time to catch the shiver, “Is everything alright?” He allowed a pregnant pause before pulling off his coat and offering it.
