If you're on someone's Twitter profile and hit the three dots, you can turn off their Retweets. Have a friend who Retweets a lot of stuff you don't care about? This is the way to go. On Facebook, however, there is no option to turn off notifications for shared posts on an individual basis. So if you're friends with someone who shares posts a lot, you're out of luck.
