Supercarrier international airport....

PACIFIC OCEAN (October 13, 2018) -- United States Navy supercarrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70) transits the Pacific Ocean on a routine at-sea training mission.

The ocean is calm to the horizon....the sea breeze light....

....but aboard the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier -- essentially a floating international airport, as such -- life goes on at a brisk and complex pace....

....with aircraft being launched and recovered....endless maintenance tasks being performed....training almost around the clock....meals served 24/7....6,000 men and women living and working together as a finely-tuned, combat-ready team....

....almost as if in a state-of-the-art terminal in a major international airport....

....but, here, on one of the most lethal floating fighting (and peace-keeping) machines ever created by mankind.
