Why did he have to be so impossible to find. King didn’t know where he was. Even Jamie didn’t know where he was. It was as if Bryan had disappeared altogether which of course Aster blamed himself for. If he’d died a few years earlier no one would have cared and no one would’ve been sad. But of course he had to die now with the most friends he’d ever had, at the perfect time to break the hearts of the maximum amount of people. It was true, the universe really did have it out for him.
Aster had checked Bryan’s house, the university where he was a student, he’d even pushed himself to visit the now empty fighting ring to see if he was there. But to no avail. Now he had resorted to roaming the streets of Ceres, checking in every shop and double checking faces in search of his friend. Then he heard shouting and something in him told Aster it was Bryan. As he got closer he recognised his voice and broke into a run until he was at the top of the alley, met with the sight of Bryan taking on way too many guys for one person. This wasn’t how he wanted it to happen. This wasn’t how you should tell your friend that you’re actually alive. But he had no choice.
“Bryan!” He yelled, sprinting down the alley to join the other, stopping just behind him as he didn’t want to spook him. “What are you d- d- d- d- d- d- d- d- d- Are you okay? What’s happening?” It was now as he looked at that assailants that Aster realised he hadn’t used his powers since he’d gotten back. He wasn’t sure if he even could.
