We're taking over the entire church for some Capture The Flag mayhem! This is definitely an event you and all your friends should come out to! It's all going down April 20th; 6pm to 8:30pm; at C4 Church; completely free
Here's a Christmas Clip from one of our favourite Christmas Movies - the Original 1964 Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer. Obnoxious nose sound and all, this really is vintage stop motion filming at it's best!
Family of Fusion: Welcome Back to Fusion!
To the parents, friends and family of Fusion:
Well it's been a long time coming! Welcome back to Fusion and thanks so much for taking the time to check out our new Fusion website.
I'd like to take a few words to introduce myself for those of you I haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet. My name is Rob, and I'm the Pastor of Pre-Teens here at C4. I've been involved in youth ministry for most of the last 12 years, and I've been at C4 working with the Fusion ministry for the last 2 now as a Pastoral Intern with Pastor Gary. I felt the calling to go into youth ministry back when I was still in high school myself, and since then it's been the desire of my heart to see the lives of youth changed for the better and to see them connect themselves with Christ.
I am most passionate about something I call the "Aha moment". Or that moment of true, perfect realization of the need for Christ in their lives. I believe that in order to have a true relationship with Christ, I must first recognize my need. Without first recognizing that I am doomed aboard a sinking ship of my own creation caused by my sin, how can I possibly hope to embrace the one with the power to rescue me from my destruction?
To that end, Fusion will always be a place of teaching, worship, connection and fun. I believe that students require many things to be successful. I believe they need times to learn, times to pray, times to worship, times to serve, times to be served, and times to play.
This year, we're going to do all of it. It's my hope that we're going to do it all with excellence, with God's blessing, and in His will.
As parents and supporters of students in Fusion, there are a few things you can do to help:
First: Talk about your faith, and pray with your students. More than anything, if you do these two things, you will be more likely to have an impact in your student's spiritual lives.
Second: Communicate with us here at C4. While I'm not in the office everyday, I always try to answer emails within 24 hours, barring any extenuating circumstances. I am also reachable via phone at the church office. I will be updating the facebook page via this website frequently, so check the site, like us on facebook or follow us on twitter, but stay in the loop, and if you've got questions, feel free to ask.
Third: Get involved. We're almost always looking for volunteers in a variety of capacities. Sound Board Operators, Music, Sunday Morning Setup, Sunday Morning Volunteering in Fusion. However, please talk to your students before offering to serve to make sure they are ok with you volunteering where they worship.
This year is going to be very exciting. We're looking at bringing new service projects for students to get involved in. Getaway has been expanded to include grade 6 students again this year. Small groups should be back in one form or another - more details on that coming later, and we'll still be doing all our regular Sunday morning fun and monthly events!
I hope you're as excited and passionate about seeing students in Fusion connect to each other, adult leaders and most importantly, with Christ this year. Let's work together and watch God unfold miracles in their lives.
Thanks for stopping by,
Rob
