Rhysand had been pacing the now all too familiar hallways, creating a map of them in his head. He knew his way around the keep rather well at this point, despite most of the halls looking the same, and was trying to find anything interesting about them to observe. Giving up, he leaned against the banisters overlooking one of the halls when he spotted a familiar face below. “I’d say long time, no see.” He called down. “But I see everyone in this place multiple times day.”

His newfound friendship with Ascar had been unexpected, but it had become one of the added joys in his life since he had been able to return. There were only a handful of people who still stood by him, and many more who were yet to make up their minds, so anyone happy to spend time in his company was a pleasure to be around. “I see that the garden hasn’t been much of a priority lately.” He had noticed a few overgrown patches, but it was understandable in the aftermath of so much tragedy.

Rhys was completely lost in his own world as he strolled through the halls of the keep. His mind was occupied with worries and speculation of who was responsible for the murders, and he was paying little attention to anything else. That was how he ended up colliding with someone in the corridor and almost knocking them off their feet. Grabbing his arm to balance them and stop them both from toppling over, Rhys grinned sheepishly. “Sorry about that, it was completely my fault.”
