Show Me Love
The past six months had been a whirlwind. Cairo gained and nearly lost a sister all in the span of two months. After he had killed her abuser (Cairo is still dealing with the aftermath from that) Sasha went downhill. Although it was amazing having her company and finally having a baby sister in his life, it was evident that she needed help and it took everything within Cairo to finally get her some. After a few months of watching his little sister go down a destructive path, he checked her into a rehabilitation center far away from LA. Cairo went with her though, staying in a nearby rental with Brook so Sasha could have family close by. He figured that it could be a great break from the stresses of Hollywood for them all. Sasha needed to get better, he needed a break from his career, and he and Brook needed a true fresh start. Watching his sister go through that horrible experience made him realize how precious his time with everyone was. So, he decided to focus on the ones he loved and strengthening those relationships instead of just shoving his feelings away and going on auto-pilot like usual.
Their relationship had grown a lot stronger since their last breakup. Cairo wanted to make it known to Brook that she was number one in his life and even though his career was really starting to take off, he decided to take some time away and really focus on his relationship with her. Being away from Los Angeles really allowed for Cairo to mature and grow. Not only did he start holding himself accountable for his actions, but he had also started to begin therapy to deal with his demons. Now with his mind clearer than before and living in a space that promoted healing, Cairo was seriously starting to think about the future. He had given Brook a promise ring a few months earlier but now he was really thinking of going out and buying an engagement ring. Sure the two of them hadn’t even come out publicly with their relationship, but Cairo didn’t care. The two of them knew how much they meant towards each other, so much so that they had been actively trying to start a family. For some reason, it wasn’t so easy like people made it out to be and truth be told Cairo was a bit worried. He knew how much Brook wanted a family of her own and he really wanted to give that to her. She deserved it after all she had been through with him and he wanted a little boy or girl running around their home. Cairo was certain that if they had a child the two of them would try their absolute best to do everything right. As of right now it just wasn’t happening and even though there was some tension between them because of it Cairo wasn’t going to let it drive a wedge between them.
After a visitation with Sasha, the two of them went back to their home for the evening. A homemade dinner, movie, and a bubble bath later the two of them were ready for bed. Cairo was about to turn in for the night when he saw that Brook was standing outside near the balcony. Concerned, he walked over to his girlfriend to check up on her and hopefully get her to get some rest.
“Hey baby.” He wrapped his arms around her waist and pressed a kiss to her temple. “Whatcha’ thinkin’ about? Its late, why don’t you come to bed? Its a lot more warmer there anyway.” Cairo gently ran his hands up and down her arms. “You okay?”
