Hollis had set up her own corner in a small coffee shop a couple hours after Tara had gone to work, and she’d been sipping mochas for a while, happy to have found somewhere less crowded-- after seeing the Starbucks locations in Manhattan, she’d felt lucky to even find a seat, much less lounge there at length. In between tea videos on Youtube and scrolls through social media, she had been doing a little bit of people-watching, though it wasn’t as entertaining as it had been in the heart of the city. At some point, though, a blonde had caught her eye and sent her mind reeling, trying to figure out who she was. She was definitely familiar, but she was pretty sure they hadn’t actually met. She was in the middle of staring ( she’d been doing that in brief stints for a while, hoping it’d go unnoticed ) when the woman made eye contact. She’d quickly found the screen of her phone again, but knew that didn’t make her look any more innocent. Then, when it happened again ( maybe she should’ve stopped the staring after the first time, but... she hadn’t ) she decided just to lean forward slightly in her chair and say something. “Sorry-- I feel like I’ve seen you somewhere before. I don’t even live here, but you’re so-- your face is in my head, somehow.”
