Outside the store where Jae works is a package addressed to her and inside is a portrait of Jae but instead of her in modern day clothing, she's dressed up in a suit of armor and carrying the sword that Kasey sometimes sees her holding and a note: Merry Christmas Jae! I'm sorry that I gave my gift late but it's only managed to dry now, I do hope that you enjoy it!
Jae opened the present and grinned at the painting inside. It was beautiful, and she loved this particular portrayal of her—something that made her feel strong, important. She pulled out the phone that she was still getting the hang of and texted Kasey: I can’t wait until you’re famous and I can say I knew you first. Thank you.
