Isaac was not expecting for someone to be knocking at his door. His sister didn’t tell him she was coming over, but he never really could predict Sera. “Hey, I thought you were...” he trailed off when he realized it was not his sister. “You aren’t my sister. Can I help you?”
As much as she loved Aryndale, these peace talks at the castellum had been the perfect excuse to get out of the kingdom and hopefully distract her older brother from what Alaya feared he was considering. Even if the war was over, its effects upon their kingdom and people were not and she dreaded history repeating itself. Their father had married her off to secure funds for the war and even though he could not have known it, he had doomed Alaya to a life of torture with her husband. Were it not for his untimely death, she would still be trapped now.
She could not be certain that the new king was considering the same for their younger sister as she was not privy to his thoughts and plans, but Alaya wanted to be prepared just in case that fateful day was on the horizon. She would not allow her fate to befall her sister. It was why she had invited Sybil to tea with her, so she might discover if any plans for an arranged marriage were in motion already that she was not aware of. “Ah, my dear sister,” Alaya smiled as the door opened and gestured to the seat opposite her. “Come and join me.”

Jesse had been drifting through the crowds trying to find his sisters, knowing the only thing he wanted to do was get them to safety. As he was shifting through the sea of people running around in a panic, his eyes landed on a woman who seemed to be sitting on the ground stitching someone up in the middle of all the gunfire. He knelt down, making his way towards her. “Hey! Hey! Come on. You have to move somewhere else. You can’t stay here.”

Kate had her mind on other things; like a certain partner of hers who completely threw her through a loop by kissing her and confessing the two of them should go on a proper date. If it had been any other person the FBI agent would have laughed in their face but it wasn’t some random person, it was Ryan. She had two glasses in her hand, one for Gerard and one for herself but what she hadn’t been expecting was that when she turned around she would bump right into someone, dropping the glasses from her hand. “Oh shit,” she gasped, leaning down to start picking up the glass. “I’m usually more graceful,” she teased.

Skylar walked back in from talking to Ryan, her emotions were probably a little higher than they should have been especially in a place close to something that could easily numb everything. She turned the corner only to smack right into one of her good friends, a small huff leaving her lips. “God, I’m sorry. I should have been paying attention to where I was going.” She chuckled lightly as she dropped her gaze down to look at Sybil’s outfit. “Wow, you look amazing.”

Skylar leaned back against the couch, staring at the ceiling as she fluttered her eyes closed. She was doing about anything she could to stay awake when she heard a knock on the door, raising her hand to rub the back of her hand against her eyes. She slipped up off the couch and walked over to the door. She unlocked it and reached for the knob, turning it and opening it as her eyes settled on Sybil, pressing her lips together as she cleared her throat. “Sorry I don’t remember if we had plans or not.” She said quietly, keeping her eyes on her.
Life had been busier than usual lately for the Aryndale king. The peace talks were already a lot to contend with and then the sudden murder of one of his close advisors had made him feel like the walls were crumbling around him. It was a lot to contend with, and he couldn’t let any emotion show other than a display of quiet sympathy for the deceased and his family. To make any big display would have been foolish and disruptive, at least according to his other advisors.
With all of this going on, he did not really have the time for his younger sister, but she had asked to see him and with the main suspect not going anywhere from his cell in the dungeon, Sebastian decided he could spare a brief moment with Sybil. “Sister,” Even though he had allowed time for this meeting, his tone of voice still showed how rushed off his feet he was feeling. “You said you wanted to speak to me?”

Even though Limburg had been left in safe hands during his time spent away in the war, Aeron still wanted to be well informed of all that he had missed out on so that he could return and make his father proud. However, so many years away left a lot to catch up on and being in the castellum meant Aeron only had his letters to use for research.
They were detailed, thanks to Sigrid and his father, but as much as he enjoyed them he had also been staring at the ink on the parchment for hours and his eyes were becoming strained. He paused for a moment to close his eyes, and when he opened them he found the princess of his homeland standing there. “Your highness, this is certainly a pleasant surprise. I did not realise you were here.”
