I haven't been too active until recently, but there are a couple of people I wanted to give recognition to, and a big thank you for interacting with me! there’s a time in taehyung’s life where he just disconnects himself from the entire world, literally the entire world, and really, it feels great. for once he doesn’t have to put up a front that seems to come naturally to him now. it’s cool, it’s whatever, it keeps people from pestering what could possibly be wrong with him. again, he’s thankful for that blank expression he’s bears easily without any force. 

there’s also a time where he sits in a secluded area, save for a few individuals that casually pass by disregarding the male on the bench staring blankly at the static screens through the dirty windows. it’s then he’s letting his mind free from whatever continuously circulates within its cavity. like a dream within a dream, this very moment when he closes his eyes and replays the numerous events that has happened in his life was like a memory within a memory. 

he’s tipping his head back and closing his eyes, inhaling the cool air through nostrils and exhaling from his mouth, lips pressing into a firm line soon after and repeat just seconds later. he’s remembering the time his father takes him to the park. for once, his father didn’t have to work. for once, it was just his father and him and a father-son bonding. he didn’t care what the two did, they could be at home watching movies or gaming and he would still enjoy every minute of it. 

which they do after visiting the park.

"woah, no you’re cheating!" the young boy barks out a laugh and reaches to distract his father by pressing all the random buttons there were on the controller. 

"now who’s cheating, squirt! hey, no— drat! i was so close," his father falls back against the couch, controller laying on his stomach as it rises and falls and taehyung shifts to face his father, happily resting his head against his chest eventually he’s drifting into his usual slumber. 

and for once he feels safe. safe in the comforts of his father’s arms, away from danger and away from the pain that threatens to scratch at his flesh, reminding him he was and never will be completely safe. but he is for now and that’s all that matters to him.

just like the boy in his memory, he too begins drifting off into slumber until his head dips down and he’s snapped back awake. he shakes his head, letting the memory sink in for a bit before getting up from the bench. on his way back to his apartment nothing but a genuine smile remains plastered on his tiers. 

rather than bittersweet memories, the ones of his father, though short, never fails to bring a smile that’s been missing on his lips for years.
