MAGUIRE V WHEELER: CWFC 74!

A lightweight bout between John Maguire and Brad Wheeler has been set for Cage Warriors 74. The event, which takes place at the Copper Box Arena in London’s Olympic Park on Saturday, November 15, 2014, will also feature a historic CWFC women’s bantamweight world title fight between Pannie Kianzad and Agnieszka Niedzwiedz. Maguire (19-8), who hails from England, will be competing on home soil for the first time in over two years, with his last outing in the UK coming in September 2012 when he took on John Hathaway under the umbrella of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. A five-fight veteran of the UFC, where he accumulated a 2-3 record, Maguire signed for Cage Warriors Fighting Championship last October and debuted with a unanimous-decision victory over Philip Mulpeter at CWFC 63. The 31-year-old, who has been stopped just twice in his 27 professional contests, will be keen to return to winning ways on November 15, following consecutive defeats to Saul Rogers and Damir Hadzovic.
