Riverside Good Food at Zion Hawker Food Centre is just opposite Great World City. The stall sells a variety of food including hokkien mee, oyster egg, and popiah.
I’ve been here at night before but not lunch. At 1pm on a weekday, it was still easy to find seating for 5 pax. I decided to eat at this store because of how clean the store seemed to be. I also saw that they had a best of 2017 awards which means they must have been recently recognized.
The white kway teow noodle did not seem as salty as the original char kway teow. It’s probably more similar to penang char kway teow and it’s cooked with cai poh (preserved white radish). The stall owner was nice to check if I wanted my noodles cooked with chili or pork lard. Upon hearing that I didn’t want chili, he made the effort to rinse out his wok. The noodles were served piping hot and I’d say there was wok hei. The stall owner also squeezed the lime after asking and I was glad as I wouldn’t have to do it myself. Definitely would recommend this dish if you’re nearby as it’s filling and less than 5 dollars to fill your tummy when you’re near town.
