Breakfast at Tiffany’s- What’s one of your favorite memories?

First that comes to mind: my 20th birthday, when my boyfriend brought out a cake with candles and everyone started to sing Happy Birthday. It was a surprise, and it made me feel very loved and blessed –especially considering how I spent my birthday the year before Feeling Bad and getting drunk alone in my room. 

It was just one of those moments that made me realize how things can change for the better. It was something that, a year prior to that, I couldn’t have even imagined happening.    

Funny Face- What’s something that can always make you smile?

Roman Holiday- If you could know the honest answer to any question, what question would it be? 

What do I have to do to be in a better place this time next year?

red: how was your first kiss? what do you love about yourself? when’s the last time you warmed your hands in front of a fire? would you rather watch a sunrise or sunset? what’s the best thing about summer? 

1.) I initiated my first kiss just for the sake of “having a first kiss”. I was eighteen and stupid and sad and had lied about it being my first kiss. I felt nothing when I did it. Afterwards, I was told I was a good kisser. For a while after that, kissing felt more like a performance than an act of love which upsets me to think about now.

2.) I love that I write. I love that I’m reflective (although this is a double-edged sword as sometimes it makes me melancholy and self-pitying, but I also think it’s important to think about why we do what we do). I love my legs. I love that I’ve learned the importance of being emotionally vulnerable.  

3.) I can’t remember when. 

4.) There’s something sacred in sunrises, but I’m rarely up to see them (perhaps that’s what makes them special?).  

5.) Best thing about summer: sitting alone in nature w/ coffee + a cigarette watching the sunset.

purple: what’s your astrological sign? what’s the best piece of advice you ever received? when’s the last time you followed your instincts? what’s your favorite food? what’s your secret dream?

1.) Sagittarius.  

2.) Nothing is a waste of time –because I constantly feel the need to see an immediate result w/ anything I do and I like to feel like it’s in some way productive (which usually means the end result is “good” or “worthwhile”). However, I think it’s important to realize that even the failures or things that seem in hindsight like they were a waste of time weren’t –they can still be learned from. 

3.) Sex? lmao

4.) Bagels are a good standard, but I also really like cheesecake and spicy salmon rolls. 

5.) I feel like I don’t have any “secret” dreams –I’m pretty explicit about the things I dream about as ridiculous as they can be. But I guess it’s to live in the south of France near the Mediterranean as a published writer with a garden. Waking up next to someone I love and sitting out on a balcony w/ a cup of coffee.

64. Want kids?

Not particularly. I don’t think I’d be a very good mother. Of course, that could change, but when I think of my future, I don’t foresee children as part of it! Nothing against kids or people that want them! I’d happily be the Cool Aunt/family friend. 

71. Romantic or spontaneous

I find both endearing –romantic moments are sweet and warm and make a person feel just, like, nice. But I probably prefer spontaneous? I just like split decisions, sudden confessions, bursts of passion. It’s exciting.

Sure! If the mood’s right! I’ve kissed on the first date, and I’ve also not kissed on the first date. 

98. Out Of Everything In The World What Do You Wish For

I wish I could focus on my art/interests in a structured way w/out having to worry about money.

26. What did you do for your last Birthday

It was really great! I went over to my boyfriend’s and we had rum + coke and hung out for a bit then we walked to our friend’s Laura’s place to do our group’s secret santa. So we exchanged gifts (my bf ended up being my secret santa which was a fun surprise lmao) and then they surprised me w/ a chocolate cake and sang to me and everything and it was so sweet, I thought I was going to cry lol. 

After that, I got way too drunk and I guess we left to go to a sock hop at this one house that throws a lot of parties. I danced like a slut (I guess?? lmao at this point I literally don’t remember anything) and fell and it was sloppy and embarrassing af. Then I walked back w/ my bf and stayed the night at his place. I really, really regret how drunk I got, but other than that, it was a lot of fun.

What countries do you want to visit ?

France (surprise, surprise lmao) + Puerto Rico (I guess it’s technically an ‘unincorporated territory of the U.S. which is bs but you know what I mean lol) definitely. 

But honestly, I want to see all of Europe before I die. And, to be even more real here, I would straight up visit pmuch any country given the chance (like, if it was all paid for lol).

are we ever going to see some of your short stories or old files ? the small pieces you publish sounds amazing

Current Projects:

I am coordinating and planning to release a zine by August 2017 with some other contributors here on tumblr. Assuming all goes well, it will be the first time I will be publishing a complete piece of writing anywhere. It will likely be poetry! 

I am also currently in the development process of a new project/novel (I have been for like the last yr tbh lol). First drafts suck and are the hardest part for me, but maybe this summer I’ll be able to get one out so I can start revisions in the fall. I also think it’s just kind of tough bc I still have a lot of hang-ups and self-doubt as a result of my last novel. 

To Kill a King (my first serious, complete novel): 

yes, this gets its own heading lmao

I have been trying to find a lit. agent for my completed novel, To Kill a King (abbrv. TKAK sometimes), since last summer. I have however taken a break from that because it is very emotionally taxing for me, although I may try again this summer. I have considered self-publishing, but the issue is that I don’t think I can market independently (I don’t have a very big following on social media, etc.)  And, unfortunately, I do not think the novel will ever get picked up by a serious agent or agency/etc. It is very much a niche story, written by someone unknown and unpublished. Not the most profitable investment, I imagine.

I originally had Part One of the novel on Wattpad, but I removed it for revision and decided against reposting.

In Regard to Old Files: 

Many of my old fiction files are incomplete and would require heavy revisions for me to feel confident enough to post (which doesn’t make a lot of sense to me because they’re incomplete w/ no intention of completion lol, I would rather put time + energy into something I can foresee finishing). 

As for my old files that are non-fiction/my journals, those are deeply personal and I hesitate to broadcast them online at this time.
