Lew and I arrived at Union Station in Chicago yesterday just shy of nine thirty. The train was late, but that suited Lew just fine as he is a perennially late riser and if the war couldn’t break him of the habit I’m confident that a vacation will find even worse luck in trying.

i think about this once a month and when winona say something about it he does get defensive (for multiple reasons - “i know how much you make”) and i think it’s representative about how he always felt it necessary to be able to get up and go at any time and never outgrew it because even when he goes back to kentucky and doesn’t want to some part of him saw leaving miami as an inevitability

secondly, in the span of 6 seasons how many places is it casually dropped that raylan was stationed?? that boy is always ready to get up and go and never really wants to put down roots anywhere (because hes seen what happens when roots tie people down, generations down, and its so fucking hard to get out)
