I mean, just so we're clear - we can all see what these MPs are doing here but it's also not the time for straight people to whine about the horrible history of marriage etc. and how they just want something ~different~. It's like you make a cake for yourself, and sit saying to someone else "of course you can't have any, how dare you ask for some of my cake!", and then later you feel like you're looking an arse so you make them one but it's made of substitute ingredients and instead of cake it's called "Oven risen flour based snackfood". You keep eating your Cake but then you get inexplicably jealous of their Not Cake and say to them "It's really not fair that only you get to enjoy this nice alternative to boring old Cake, I think it's a really interesting deconstruction of the whole idea of Cake." So you take up your cake slice and start trying to take bits of their Not Cake while at the same time fending them off yours and saying "why would you even want Cake, it's so BORING!" despite them never having had a slice.
the day I was baking and also pissed off with straight people demanding civil partnerships
So, my birthday is tomorrow. The only thing, I'm looking forward to... is the cake.
