Random thing with Caleb and my OCs.
Cold bands of blue light lit up the meeting room of the Farspace Fleet. Holograms of the Deepspace Tunnel rotated in the center. Unexplored regions, fuel projections, aircraft that would go all floated next to it.
Fleet Officers sat solemnly listen to their Colonel point a gloved hand at the large console behind him.
"If the Colonel didn't execute the drop maneuver at the last minute we'd all be de..."
Caleb shoots the man a cold look and the words die in the old man's mouth.
The Colonel continues "We went through Sectors 3, 5 and 8 of the Deepspace Tunnel but that route is vulnerable and drains more fuel. They knew that."
Nobody ever interrupted.
Nobody ever did.
Caleb pulls up another projection. "Another problem is the the person or group that tried to sink us they..."
His sleeves tug downward.
The Colonel looks down at the tiny fingers grasping his dark uniform.
"Need juice."
His son, Navin stood next to his chair, in one leopard print sock (the other lost somewhere in the room), an apple plushie and an oversized little sweater. His purple eyes heavy with sleep and brown curls messed up from where he'd laid down.
Nav did not cry.
Nav did not whine.
He asked quietly.
Liam and the others looked to the floor, as if making eye contact with the toddler would earn them a one way ticket to the interrogation room.
Caleb didn't lose his composure.
"Those of you I sent out to get to the bottom of that better have answers. Otherwise I have all reason to believe you are conspiring against the Fleet's Colonel." He continues reaching down with one hand searching the insulated bag under the table as he searched blindly while speaking.
"No Colonel can trust those who aren't serving him...." Caleb found the juice box.
Without looking away from all the men seated before him, with the reflexes and speed of a man who'd loaded firearms many times, he popped the straw in before handing it to the toddler.
The toddler accepts it with two arms, beaming happily.
"Thank you daddy!" The child squeals.
"I question the competen....You're welcome Pup. " Caleb says before turning back to the conversation.
The meeting changes to Fleet Deployment schedules, Caleb feels a small weight climbing onto his lap, he doesn't need to know who it is. Mildly afraid of the medals poking his little pup he quickly unbuttons the front of his military jacket before picking up his son and places him on his destination, his hands protectively circles the child's waist.
The world seemed bigger on his father's lap. So many shiny things and serious people. People didn't talk much, sometimes men in dark uniforms saluted him. He liked being with daddy, nobody bumped into him when he was there.
"House?" He asked when they got there. "No Pup this isn't my house."
So what else could it be?
It was high up with too much doors and too much windows. His father didn't wait, did not get lost, did not ask other adults for permission inside here...everything looked simple to
So the child's only logical answer.
"It's a castle!"
Nav absentmindedly drank his juice on Caleb's lap before a question formed in his head.
"Daddy?"
"Yes Pup?"
"These your Knights?" The child's eyes widened in awe at the ppl around the table, with his juice box he specifically pointed to Liam.
"Yes." Caleb replied instantly. "Most of them are Papa's knights."
Nav stared at everyone like they were his heroes too before sighing happily and plopping back on Caleb's chest.
Caleb holds him closer, fights the urge to place his cheek on the child's curls and nuzzle him till he laughed loudly or shower him with kisses. Nobody trusted Aadhira, his older daughter since she almost burnt the house down making microwave ramen so she was at the D.A.A with her mother, so of all the meetings, Caleb had to watch him.
Caleb admired his innocence. It was somethings that he couldn't afford when he was Navin's age and he would protect that.

synopsis. you're a little jealous because all the girls in class flock to your boyfriend caleb
cw. slight angst ˖ jealousy ˖ comfort
note. i think i completely missed what you wanted frm this request anon im so srry
you were going to beat caleb up. doesn't matter if he's taller and stronger than you. . . you were determined to give him a piece of your mind.
you watch as girls flock to him at the end of class, standing way too close for comfort. having him as the student TA for your class was both a blessing and a curse. not only was he super smart and able to help you with the course material, but having him as eye candy to just stare at during class was nice too.
but it turns out many other girls in your class thought the same. they crowd him as they try to feign stupidity on the topic, hoping to talk to caleb by using academics as an excuse. you watch as their hands stroke his forearm while holding the worksheet in front of him for "clarification." you can't blame them though. caleb is the spitting image of boyfriend material with his beanie, glasses, and flannel.
and caleb, being thoughtful, would answer every single one of their questions, unbeknownst to their ulterior motives. you mentally huff and shove your belongings into your bag before storming out of the classroom, giving one glance behind your back to see if he would notice, but he doesn't look your way.
I found a note from last night that I don't remember writing that just says "Caleb using EVOL time dilation to extend orgasm"
“Caleb, if we had a daughter what would you name it?” You say suddenly appearing from the other room into his office.
Caleb drops his phone and looks at you a million different things running through his mind.
“Why are you asking pips, are you okay is your period late?” He sounds nervous and is that a hint of excitement you detect in his tone. You don't have time to unpack that right now so you simply show him your switch screen.
“I’m not pregnant dummy our miis just had a baby and I wanted your input.”
Caleb makes a sound of understanding pulling you into his lap to get a better look at your screen. “I thought you could choose the gender why are we having a girl first?”
“Because my island is female dominated that's why.”
”But she’s gonna need a big brother to protect her like I do for you.” He states matteroffactly.
”Caleb she’s a mii nothing is gonna happen to her now what are your thoughts on naming her Apple.”
”I like that its cute like her.”
You both watch the little montage of your miis being parents to Apple.
Hours later you lie in bed with Caleb recalling how he reacted earlier.
”Hey why did you sound disappointed when you found out I wasn’t pregnant?”
Caleb squishes you to his chest and shushes you.
”You must have been hearing things goodnight pips.” He says quickly.
