My digital impression of Yellow Stagshorn. A forest fungi. Based on an original photograph taken by myself back in 2009. Here is a little bit more about the fungi itself, Distinguishing Feature : A short deep yellow branched fungus resembling stubby antlers growing on dead coniferous trees in damp woods. Related to : Common Jellyspot Fungus but is taller. A gelatinous branching fungus of the genus dacromycetes (Family Dacromycetaceae), which resembles stubby stags antlers. It grows on damp decaying dead conifer trees. Other similar species in the family Clavariceae are more brittle and grow on other substrates. Grows all year round, but especially late autumn and early winter. It is poisonous.
