He never expected he’d have to deal with the soul-crushing anxiety of being the new kid at twenty-seven, but hey, who can predict what life is going to throw at them? It wasn’t just being new and not knowing anyone around - that he could deal with, he always made friends easily - it was the new environment, the new threat, not to mention all the new scents. Being in close proximity to so many different species was completely new to him;  honestly the mixture of everyone and his inability to pick each individual scent out was giving him a migraine. Calvin knew the importance of first impressions but pretty much nothing could take him out of the bad mood physical pain put him in. “What does a guy have to do to get some peace around here?” he whined spinning around, eyes on fire, to face whomever had dared walk near him.

[ BRENTON THWAITES, TWENTY-SEVEN, CISMALE ]. who just got accepted? oh, it’s just the new student calvin knight. he is originally from budapest, hungary and they’re apparently a werewolf. did you hear their focus is scent and smells? that’s probably how they got in. they remind me of the forest while it’s drizzling, dogeared pages, worn-out leather jackets, and the smell of coffee first thing in the morning.

history

calvin was born into a family with plenty of old money to sustain them in the quaint little town of budapest, hungary.

he was bitten by a werewolf just about when he was starting high school. he often explored the forest behind his house after school as a way to detach from the world and all its responsibilities (albeit few for a 14 year old). the sun had long set and the moon was high above him when he realised how far away he had wandered from the house. he was just about to turn back when the event that would change the entire trajectory of his life occurred.

he never found out who or why it happened to him, and if you asked him now he’d say he didn’t care, or that he knew it was just some freak accident, probably some young werewolf who didn’t have control over themselves fully yet.

calvin was forced to deal with the changes all by himself, never having anyone he felt he was close enough to that warranted disclosure. his parents noticed the change in his behaviour and incorrectly chalked it up to a symptom of teenage angst. so they did what any loving parent would do: sent him away.

by the time he came across the allen pack, calvin had figured out and taught himself most of the basics when it came to life as a werewolf. what he was less aware of was the existence of all the other supernatural species -- that’s where his education started.

a few years ago, his parents reached out to him to let him know that his younger sister had disappeared. and very coincidentally that was when calvin decided to join the school with a specialty in scent and smells...

personality

calvin is the biggest smart-ass you will ever come across. and don’t get him wrong, mix in just a hint of flirting and he definitely does it because he thinks it’s charming

he’s a big suck-up when it comes to authority, or at least to their face. he will get up to all kinds of mischief as long as he thinks he can get away with it

he’s the guy who is the life of the party, the one everyone rolls their eyes at but can’t help but smile around him, and yet when they actually ponder what they truly know about him, they come up short.
