Although it was well into the night, the party was still in full swing when Lydia had finally led Cale away from the dancefloor for a rest. They had been drinking and dancing for hours, and while she was more than enjoying herself, her feet were starting to hurt. They wound their way through the room, finally finding a pair of unoccupied cushions to sit down on, and Cale sat down first, smirking up at her as he gestured for her to sit on him rather than next to him.Rolling her eyes - fondly, for the most part - she settled into his lap, fully aware of the hardness in his jeans but trying her best to ignore it. It was flattering, really, and she knew damn well that it was biology as much as anything else, but it was still uncomfortable. Or stressful, maybe. Nerve-wracking. It reminded her of all the insecurities she’d had from the very beginning, and that bothered her. More than almost anything, Lydia hated to feel uncertain and insecure. Now wasn’t really the time to think about that, though, was it? They’d been enjoying their night thus far, and Lydia didn’t want to let her mind ruin it. She relaxed as best she could, which, well, really wasn’t all that hard to do when Cale started kissing her neck. She shifted, making herself more comfortable, and politely ignored the soft groan that Cale gave when she brushed against his crotch. It wasn’t like she was intentionally teasing him.She hummed quietly as Cale sucked what she assumed would be a hickey onto her neck, and surveyed the room somewhat absentmindedly.“D’ya think yer ev’r gonna wanna fuck me, luv?” Cale asked suddenly, ever the eloquent one, and Lydia frowned, lips pressing into a thin line as she debated turning around to face him. Deciding against it, she simply sighed instead, and tilted her head back to rest against Cale’s shoulder as she glanced up at him. There was something more than just desire reflected in his eyes, but she wasn’t sure what to call it. It looked sad, almost, and Lydia closed her eyes so that she wouldn’t have to wonder what it meant.“I don’t know,” she said, finally, and she felt rather than saw Cale nod and press his lips to her temple.
