so with my and rex, I like the idea of him as my BF but not really wanting it. this is my first serious thing with anybody. Point is at a ward church thingy on sunday I was eating my corn bc I didn't want pork ( I hate pork when I'm on my period) point is. this 40 something year old who is married, has 5 kids and everything( I'm gonna name her lizard) LEANS OVER TO ME
and says
lizard: have you kissed him yet?
we have known each other for two weeks. what the fuck is with her. keep in mind this lady is not my mom. my mom is talking with the missionarys or bishop. rex is talking with someone else right behind me
me: no? what is with you? lizard: I know that. but have you kissed him yet? i tell her no lizard: but have you kissed him yet me: NO! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU! i was so pissed off that this lady was shoving her nose in my business. THAT IS JUST WRONG!!! so I get up from my set embarresed in the bad way and head into the church building and scroll for a bit.
and this lady is the type of talker who will spill everyone's tea. @madamebell so my mom is gonna talk with her. it's fine if my mom asks me that. BUT FOR HER TO DO THAT?! HELL NO!
Welp
I did it, persona 5 is done. This is going to be another retrospective, but a lot more coherent then my p3 one. To really sum everything up, it was a really great experience, there was a lot of individual parts I really l liked and overall its pretty solidly up there with p3.
Just for some brief thoughts on the overall message, I feel it was overall pretty good, however I think i still like p3's core concept of death a bit more. Its hard to place it, but i feel like main persona 5's message was about rebelling against authority to fight injustice in the system, which is a a fantastic message that I do really connect to, however i feel like it pales just a touch compared with the sheer universal impact of death. The royal section did a great job helping to improve this however, kind of extending the already great message of base p5 to a larger idea of accepting hardship but always striving for more. Overall, the 3rd semester was really amazing, and I really regret accidently spoiling myself when googling will seed guides.
I think the strongest part of p5 is the story is generally well written and is really a step up in gameplay and visuals compared to p3 and p4, and I can surprisingly say I generally liked the gameplay. Spaceship boss fight sucked but thats the only "bad" part I can think off. Which is again, surprising, considering im not a huge fan of turn-based gameplay or jrpgs in general. The weakest part ofr me was really the amount of core cast characters and their interactions through the story. It felt like each character got an arc as part of the main story in a single palace then was just kinda there for the rest of the game, and any other character work was consigned to social links. There was definitely an overstuffing of the main cast, and I can't help but compare this to p3 where each character had multiple arcs and deep connections to the main story throughout. Not a huge weakness, but its the one real place I feel like where the game could be improved.
To sum everything up, pretty awesome game. Next is persona 4 golden. Ive started a save, but only just finished the first palace, so now its time to put my whole focus there.
