Early morning surprise
Sebastian was looking forward to sleeping in today. He’d finished shooting a new movie a week ago and was planning on relaxing for some time before trying to get involved in another movie. Of course he would still look through any script that got passed his way and would consider the possibility of an audition. But the past year had been rather busy for him. Sebastian was involved in the critically acclaimed movie ‘Kings of Atlanta’ that was expected to do rather well at the Oscars. There was some buzz that he might even be up for something, but Sebastian didn’t really count on it. There were some good reviews of his performance, but that didn’t mean anything. He was trying to focus more on his career. With this previous movie finishing production and another one he was starring in coming out next month, he was a busy guy. A busy guy who wanted his sleep.
Unfortunately that simple request wasn’t going to be fulfilled. The sudden movement of two small children jumping into his bed caused Sebastian to groggily wake up. He moaned as he covered up his face. “Harmony. Kellan. What are you doing?”
Harmony plopped onto the bed in-between Sebastian and Cameron. “Daddyyyyyyyyyyy. It’s time to get uuuuuuuuuuuup.”
Sebastian screwed his eyes shut. “Why is it time to get up?”
Kellan hopped off the bed and started to tug at Sebastian’s hand. “Because the nonimations are going to be soon.”
Nonimations? It took Sebastian’s brain a minute to realize that he meant nominations. It took some more time for him to figure out that the Oscar nominations were that morning. Apparently his kids really wanted him to be awake for it. “Alright. Alright! I’ll be out in a minute.” He listened as two pairs of feet went running out of the bedroom and supposedly towards the living room. Sebastian cracked his eyes open and glanced at the clock. So much for sleeping in today. He rolled over and put his arm around Cameron. “You put them up to this, didn’t you?”
Cameron opened his eyes and peered at his husband from behind his arm. “Maybe.”
“Why?”
“Because it’s exciting.”
Sebastian shifted onto his back. “You know I didn’t want to watch the nominations live. I’m probably not going to get anything. Besides, I’d hear from someone if ‘Kings’ did get a nom. I don’t need to watch it happen.”
Cameron got out of bed and started to get dressed. “Well, you’re up anyway, so why not watch them?”
Sebastian sat up. “Not fair.” Cameron laughed and walked out of the room, no doubt to start making breakfast for the kids. Sebastian slipped out of bed and slowly got dressed.
When he walked out into the living room, the laptop was already sitting on the coffee table with the stream playing. The minor awards were already announced. ‘Kings of Atlanta’ was nominated for costume design already, as well as cinematography. Harmony and Kellan were sitting on the floor eating cereal. Cameron was sitting on the couch and handed Sebastian a cup of coffee just as they heard the movie also received a nomination for best score.
Harmony leaned back and looked at the two on the couch. “Daddy, what one are you?”
“If I get nominated for anything, it would be for ‘Best Supporting Actor’. But that’s if I get nominated for anything.”
Cameron shot him a dirty look before resuming drinking his coffee. The family watched the stream in silence for a while, save for the clattering of spoon against bowl and Kellan slurping his milk. Finally they got to the Supporting Actor award. As the first name was read off, Cameron leaned over and clutched Sebastian’s hand. Sebastian couldn’t help but smile at the gesture. He still wasn’t feeling too confident on his chances of getting nominated, but it was cute the way Cameron was getting excited about the whole thing. As the remaining names were being read, Cameron’s clutch got tighter. It took Sebastian a moment to realize that it was actually in response to his own gesture. The announcer got to the bottom of the page. “And finally, Sebastian Smythe, for ‘Kings of Atlanta’.”
There was a moment of silence before everyone started to cheer at once. Harmony and Kellan began running around the living room, yelling that their daddy was famous. Sebastian was still in shock, not sure how to react to the news. He was nominated for an Academy Award. He thought it would never actually happen since so many actors went without getting a shot at the big one. Yet here he was, still in the early stages of his career, already with a nomination under his belt. There was a momentary thought that he might have peaked too soon, but that was quickly brushed away once Cameron pulled him into a kiss. They kissed for as long as they could before the kids let out sounds of disgust. Sebastian pulled away and chuckled. Cameron grabbed him for one more kiss. He smiled. “I knew it.”
Sebastian laughed. “Sure you did.”

You are my one desire. {Cambastian}
Characters: Sebastian and Cameron Smythe.
Location: Sebastian's bed.
Time: 11th of May 2012 (Took way too long to get up, but yeah.)
Cameron.
Cameron sighed as he lowered the music and pushed his laptop off his lap. He set it on his desk and made his way over to Sebastian. "You know, Marvin Gay is really good. Especially that song. It's a classic love making song." He smiled innocently at the younger twin and sat on the other boy's bed. "Scoot over, I wanna lay here with you."
Sebastian.
"If you were hinting, then fine." Sebastian glanced up to smirk up at him before scooting in to make room for Cameron in the bed.
Cameron.
"I guess now you'll never know if I was or wasn't." He laid down next to his brother and scooted as close as he possibly could. He could feel the warmth radiating off the other's skin. He looked up at Sebastian, the sleep still aparent in his eyes. "I wasn't kidding when I said you're adorable all groggy," he whispered.
Sebastian.
"That's hardly fair." Sebastian frowned, but sighed softly as his arms wrapped around Cameron, pulling him as close as he possibly could. "Is that why you woke up with your lame music?" He murmured, raising an eyebrow as he pressed a kiss to his lips.
Cameron.
Cameron smiled, "maybe. A part of my wanted to creep over here and just cuddle with you, but I didn't. I guess I figured waking you up would be a better route." He took a hold of Sebastian's hand and interlaced their fingers together, 'this is nice." Cameron really enjoyed moments like this. It reminded him of days when they were younger and living in Paris. Cameron would sneak over to Sebastian's room and spend the night with him on his bed. Sometimes Sebastian would stay with him Lafter watching a scary film or something and the thought of that past always made Cameron smile.
Sebastian.
Sebastian squeezed his hand lightly, a giant but sleepy smile on his face. "This is really nice." He murmured, his eyes fluttering shut again. Cameron had been, and still was, the only one he felt comfortable cuddling with. The only exception or whatever. "We still need to make that doublebed.." He shrugged. "If you still want to, that is."
Cameron.
"I still really want to. You can't really do much on these small things." Cameron adjusted himself a bit more to be at eye level with Sebastian. He pressed their forheads together and smiled sweetly at his boyfriend. "I love you," he whispered before locking their lips.
Sebastian.
He let out a soft chuckle, nodding weakly to not accidently hit Cameron or something. "Mhm, We'd have more fun in a double bed.." He opened his eyes to gaze back at him, a smile tugging in the corner of his lips. "I love you too." He whispered back, kissing him softly.
Cameron.
Cameron didn't know what got into him, but he didn't want to let go of Sebastian. A part of him still felt afraid that Sebastian would leave him for Kurt, but he'd never let him know that. He wanted to do what ever it took to not lose him. He really didn't want to lose the only stable thing in his life. "Good," he whispered as he momentarly parted from his lips.
Sebastian.
Sebastian held him close, way too comfortable to let go of him at all. "You look adorable tonight too." He whispered, pressing his lips to Cameron's again, softly but with a slight force.
Cameron.
Cameron could still hear his laptop faintly playing in the background. It was one of his favorite songs and actually went along with his current situation. He pulled his lips away from Sebastian and gave him a small, sad smile. He spoke along with the lyrics of the song, "fingers dimming the lights like you’re used to being told that you’re trouble. And I spent all night stuck on the puzzle." He really didn't know what he was doing anymore. He really did feel stuck. A part of him didn't want to lose Sebastian, but he loved him enough to do whatever it was the boy wanted. Even if it meant he wanted to leave. Cameron reconnected their lips with a small peck and scooted closer now, taking in his sweet scent. He loved Sebastian so much and it killed him thinking back over everything that had happened between them.
Sebastian.
Sebastian wrinkled his nose, gazing at him with confused green eyes. He knew Cameron wasn't stupid, but neither was he and he could see there was something going on. "What's wrong?" He whispered, his hand moving up to run through Cameron's short hair. He kissed him again, passionate but his kisses remained soft and innocent, before pulling away to study him.
Cameron.
Cameron sighed a bit before looking back into Sebastian's eyes. "Nothing," he lied as he fixed himself to now be on his back. He stared up at the ceiling barely iluminated by the moon cascading. He took a deep breath before begining to speak, "well.. there is something wrong, actually. I know I should let it go, but it's hard. It's hard to when I sometimes can't even look at you without thinking about you being intimate with Kurt." He could feel his eyes begin to water a bit. He had promised himself he would let it go but he couldn't. He tried his hardest, but he really couldn't. "I'm sorry, I know you wanted to drop this discusion, but I just.." He sighed once more and let go of Sebastian's hand to dry away a small tear. He kept his hands to himself after.
Sebastian.
"You're a terrible liar, Cameron." He snorted, shaking his head. He continued to gaze at his brother, knowing he'd speak his mind any second now. "Cameron.." It came out more whisper-like than he'd wanted it to. He had never, and would never love Kurt the way he loved Cameron. And it wasn't even love.. it had started to develop into it. But still.. It wasn't.. This. The younger twin quickly scooted closer, his arms wrapping around Cameron again. "I'm sorry." He whispered, burying his head into the other's side. "You're the only one I want. You and your, most of the time, lame music."
Cameron.
Cameron leaned into his brother's embrace. He knew Sebastian's feelings were real. Sebastian had always scared for Cameron and did whatever it took to keep him safe and happy. The way Cameron had actually made him brea down and cry over the kiss he had with Charlie, over leaving to Paris. He knew Sebastian couldn't fake all that. "I know you really llove me, Seb,'" He began, "but will all the hiding and temptation of others be worth it for you?"
Sebastian.
Sebastian hugged him tightly. "Everything is worth losing in order to have you. Hell, I'd even choose you over my dick. That must show some of my love for you, right?"
Cameron.
Cameron couldn't help but chuckle at his last comment. "You're such a dork," he joked as he rubbed away another small tear. He turned to look at Sebastian, a smile plastered to his face. "I'd choose you over music, and that should say something too." He pressed his lips onto Sebastian's, and kissed him with a little more force this time. This was all Cameron ever really needed:
Sebastian.
"Should that really come from you Dorky McDork?" He wrinkled his nose, brushing away a few of Cameron's tears with his fingertips. He hated when Cameron cried almost as much as when they were younger. He kissed back, his hands gripping Cameron harder but just the slightest, passionate and more forceful than before.
Cameron.
"Hey! I'm hardly any dorkier than you! I know you read LOTR when no one is around, Seb." Cameron couldn't help but chuckle at his own comment. He had found the younger twins book collection and there was no hiding it now. He felt Sebastian's lips press onto his with more force and cameron arched into him even more. He let his hand reach over behind Sebastian and pulled him closer. He didn't want to stop kissing him, all the mixed emotions and uncertainty were exiting his body with every kiss, with every touch and Cameron didn't want to stop until it was all gone.
Sebastian.
Sebastian wrinkled his nose, looking quite surprised. He thought he'd been pretty clever when it came to hiding things and couldn't help but wonder how long Cameron had known - he would've told him, but after spending his life preaching about how dull books are.. he never really found the right time to do so. "Mela en' coiamin." He flashed him a wide grin, not breaking the kiss, as wrapped his arms around Cameron, pressing his body against his.
Cameron.
Cameron could feel Sebastian's smile on his lips as he began to speak in Elvish. "Cormlle naa tanya tel'raa," he replied with another smile, "Amin mela lle." He pushed Sebastian back and quickly got on top of him. He placed his hands on the other's shoulders and bent down to kiss him. "Amin mela lle," he commented again, "I really do love you, Sebastian. More than you know." He pressed smaller kisses down his his neck and began sucking just a bit to leave a small bite mark. He wanted everyone to know Sebastian was taken and all his.
Sebastian.
"Lle naa vanima." He mumbled, pressing his lips against Cameron's with more force. He couldn't help but smirk when Cameron pushed him onto his back, and ran his tongue over his lips, gazing up at him. "I love you too. Every little part of you." He finished the sentence with a slight gasp, his teeth sinking into his bottom lip, his eyes fluttering shut.
Cameron.
Cameron reconnected their lips once more, his tongue begging for entrance. This wasn't like Cameron at all, but he wanted this. He was sure that this was what he wanted to do. He pulled back to take a breath and closed his eyes. He looked down at Sebastian, his lips still tingling from the kiss. He exhaled shakily and brushed back loose strands of hair from Sebastian's face. "Vanimle sila tiri."
Sebastian.
Sebastian parted his lips slightly, his hands gripping Cameron's waist, as to encourage him. He slowly opened his eyes again, gazing back at Cameron. "Melamin." He smiled brightly up at him, trying to get all the emotions into the smile, all the things neither English or Elvish could tell.
Cameron.
Cameron looked down at the boy below him , seeing a smile grace across his lips and he felt pretty relieved. Watching Sebastian genuinly smile made Cameron feel amazing. He just wanted the other boy to be happy, more than anything else in the world. He leaned down and pressed more kisses onto the boy's lips down to his neck. He moved his hands onto Sebastian's chest, running them down his fit torso. "You're so beautiful when you smile, Sebastian," he managed to whisper once his lips reached the younger twin's clavical. He sucked slightly on Sebastian's collar bone, not really sure what he was doing. He had never done anything like this, but he wanted it to be good for Sebastian.
Sebastian.
Sebastian let out a deep sigh at the feeling of Cameron's lips against his neck. He let his head fall back onto the pillow, closing his eyes again. It felt good, unexperienced or not. It felt like a first time to him too as this was different - this wasn't a stranger kissing down his neck in dirty, shit-smelling restroom. Neither was it like the times desire had gotten the best of him with Kurt - not even like the last time.. it'd been too desperate to ever get any close to what things with Cameron felt like. "And you're always beautiful. You're like one of those Elves. Your beauty shines brighter than the sun, y'know?" He'd never been great with words, but he was willing to try - even though he most likely never got to close to making Cameron realise how amazing he was, he hoped he at least made him feel something.
Cameron.
Cameron took notice of Sebastian's sigh and it only encouraged him to keep going. Something inside him jolted and he began to to kiss on his neck with more force. He was certain this wasn't just his lust filled insides crawling out, but how he only wanted to do this because he knew Sebastian would enjoy it. "I don't know what I'm doing, Sebastian," he mentioned honestly. It was probably a turn off, but he didn't care anymore. He probably wasn't even enjoying it as much as he thought. He pulled up to kiss him again, only this time lightly thrusting his hips on to Sebastian's. The friction sending shiver's down Cameron's spine. "I love you so much, you're far more beautiful than anything that has ever exsisted, I swear. I love you," his breath was shortening a bit as his lungs begged for more air from all the kissing. He didn't care there, nothing was going to stop this moment for him.
Sebastian.
Sebastian swallowed hard, sucking on his lower lip. It felt good, filled with more love than just a desire for a quick fuck. "That's okay." He said softly. It'd be foolish to be impatient, they were going to take this slow. A low grunt slipped his lips, bucking his hips up against Cameron's - kissing back. "I love you too." He whispered. He could feel Cameron's desire to make him feel good, but Sebastian was more interested in making his boyfriend feel good than have it the other way around. before rolling them over - a smile forming on his lips. The brunette trailed his kisses down Cameron's jaw, his hands slowly creeping up his t-shirt.
Cameron.
Cameron was a bit startled when Sebastian had manged to roll him on his back. This was almost a fight for dominance, but Cameron knew Sebastian was always the dominant one. Despite him wanting to please Sebastian, he wnet ahead and allowed Seb to take over. He hissed a bit at the touch of his brother's cold hand suddenly under his shirt. He smirked up at him before placing his own hands on the hem of his shirt. He tugged on it a bit, motioning it to come off. He felt a bit too impatient and settled on letting go of the shirt and grabbing onto his boyfriend's hips.
* * *
Cameron.
Cameron couldn't take much longer of this. They only started a few minutes ago, but Cameron had reached his point. He could feel his lower abdomen burning now. His head snapped backwards as he bucked into Sebastian's hips. "Sebastian, I'm.. I'm so close," he whispered, his voice low and grudgey.
Sebastian.
Sebastian smirked, pressing his lips harder against Cameron, thrusting harder into him with a grunt. His fingers wrapped around Cameron again, moving his hand in sync with his thrusts.
Cameron.
Cameron wrapped his arms around Sebastian, grripping at his shoulders, practically brusing him as he felt himself getting closer and closer. He let go of his shoulders and let his fingers dance down his spine and onto his arse, pushing him in deeper. His body was sweating, sticking onto Sebastian's. His breathing picked up as he felt the burning rise. "Sebastian, please, I'm so close. Do it with me."
Sebastian.
Sebastian groaned, kissing down Cameron's neck, sucking and biting at times, smirking slightly at the marks. "Fuck.." He let out a slightly louder moan, his hips moving faster. "C-Close.." He choked out between thrusts.
Cameron.
Cameron's body was on fire, every inch of him buring with lust. He pushed himself up against Sebastian's body, clawing at his back once more. He could feel Sebastian now picking up the pace as Cameron let out another muffled moan. He had managed to hit Cameron's prostate in seconds, completely pushing Cameron of the edge. "Fuck.. Sebastian. It's gonna- it's going to happen. I'm going to.. to.. come." Cameron shut his eyes in attempt to hold back just a bit more until Sebastian was fully done.
Sebastian.
Sebastian let out a loud moan, slamming his his hips into him - making sure to hit his prostate again. His hands gripped Cameron's hips tightly, his nails digged into his skin. "You.. You feel so f-fucking good.." He grunted, burying his head into Cameron's neck, as he thrusted faster, so very close to the edge. "F-Fuck..."
Cameron.
Cameron couldn't take much longer of this. All the noises Sebastian was making, the way he felt inside of him, the way he gripped him closer; they were all pushing over to climax. "F-fuck, Sebastian. I can't. I'm going to-" He cut off quickly as his lower abdomen began to burn even more. The tingling sensation suddenly running through his body as he began to release. "Ugh, Sebastian. Holy fucking shit!" He thrusted on to him one last time before letting his body die down from exhaustion.
Sebastian.
Sebastian grunted at the sound of Cameron's words, hearing him come apart really just drived him to thrust harder into him. He felt like he was walking on one of those fluffly, white cotton candy shaped clouds in the middle of light blue sky. This was a different kind of good, not just a fucking good kind of good, just.. He was way too into the feeling to be able to analyze the feelings but he would later come to realise that he in that moment finally realised that sex mixed with love was definitely the way to go - his past sexual experinces would never come up to this level. "Fuck! Cameron!" He groaned with another thrust as he started to cum.
Cameron.
Cameron could feel his entire body still tingling after the climax. It was unlike anything ever before. He was almost certain that nothing would top the other night when they masturbated each other, but this definitely did. This was the epitome of climax to him. He was completely out of breath at this point, but pulled Sebastian down for a kiss. "I love - love you so much, Sebatian Smythe. So much. I'm so glad you were my first. I love you. And you're probably thinking this is just first timer talk but it isn't. I'm soo madly in love with you." He hugged him down closer, his chest now on his own sweaty on. He could feel their sweat mixing together now as he pressed closer to him. His breath was still hitched but he didn't care. He had Sebastian in his arms and that was all that mattered.
Sebastian.
Sebastian rode out his orgasm with quite a few pant-y moans before letting go off his hips to try and support himself in order not to collapse down onto Cameron. His body was trembling, God, he felt so new to this feeling too. He kissed back passionately, smiling wide against his lips. "I am madly in love with you too, Cameron James Smythe." He whispered, his hands moving down to wrap around his waist, pressing as close to him as he possibly could. "When I thought you couldn't get any more sexy..." He grinned, pressing soft kisses to his lips. "So." Kiss. "Fucking." Kiss. "Hot." Kiss.
Cameron.
Cameron smiled into every kiss his boyfriend laid on his lips. "Me? Hah, no you're way hotter, Sebastian. The ratio to how many people you've been with compared to me proves so." He snuggled up closer to him now, still feeling really sticky and gross, but a good kind of gross that was hard to explain. He sighed audibly, "can't decide if I just want to lay here forever or ask you to jump into the shower with me." He looked up to face him pressing a small kiss over his lips. "What do you say then, my love? Sleep here like this or shower?"
Sebastian.
"Well, I can't argue against that." He smirked, gazing down at his boyfriend. He really looked handsome, even when all sweaty and worn out. He kissed up to his ear."We should shower. I'll help you get clean." He whispered into his ear with a smirk."
Cameron.
Cameron couldn't help but keep smiling, "good, I could use all the help I can get." He twisted his head to the side to give Sebastian more room before deciding to get up. He felt odd walking around completely in the nude with cum on his abdomen but it wasn't important at the moment. He made his way over to the bathroom and turned the hot water on as he waited for Sebastian to follow inside.
Sebastian.
Sebastian quickly rolled off of him to let him get up before climbing out of the bed. He got to his feet, following his brother with a wide grin on his face. He closed the door behind him, like it was needed, and slid into the shower.
Cameron.
Cameron let the water run down his face as he heard Sebastian enter the restroom. He opened his eyes and smiled as Sebastian stepped into the shower. He hungrily grabbed at his waist and pulled him under the showerhead. He placed small kisses down his neck, taking in his scent before it was washed away. "Do you remember the last time we did this? It was after we took a dive in the river er lake thing. After we confessed our feelings. Do you remember that?" He looked into his boyfriend's eyes and smiled brightly. "We've come so far, Seb. I love you."
Sebastian.
Sebastian let out a soft moan, his head tilting to the side as he wrapped his arms around Cameron. "I remember." He nodded as he gazed bac at him. "You were quite embarrassed when I couldn't stop staring. I love you with clothes and all.. but you naked is just - woah." He smirked, pressing a soft kiss to his lips. "We have. It was worth it. All of it."
Cameron.
Cameron squeezed him back, resting his head on the crook of his neck. He stood silently as he thought about everything they went through. Charlie, leaving, the break up, Kurt, the cheating, everything. It still hurt Cameron to think about Kurt getting to see, hear, feel and just experience what he just had. He was pretty much over it, but the sting was still there. He lifted his head and kissed at him passionately before letting go and turning to face the wall and let the water run down his face again.
Sebastian.
Sebastian held him tightly, pressing kisses wherever he could reach. "I'm sorry for everything." He whispered, like as if he knew what was on Cameron's mind. He didn't regret sleeping with Kurt, but he did regret hurting Cameron, even if it sounded kind of strange. He hadn't loved Kurt, neither had he ever let those three words slip his lips, but he had admitted falling in love with him. He'd regretted that too because Kurt would always just be sex. They fed off pissing each other off, it made them feel better, and that's what got them so close. The feeling of Cameron's lips against his own brought him back to reality and he kissed back deeply. He wrapped his arms around Cameron from behind, pressing kisses on his neck and back. "Let's get you clean, mhm?" He mumbled, reaching for the soap.
Cameron.
Cameron felt his heart swell as Sebastian hugged him from behind. He knew Sebastian really did love him. He was certain. He had known Sebastian forever and knew when he meant something and every time Sebastian said those three words he could see on his eyes he meant it. That was the thing about Sebastian, his eyes told you everything if you knew how to read him properly. He nodded at his request and watched as Sebastian reached for the soap.
Sebastian.
He grinned as he started to run his hands over Cameron's back, rubbing the skin gently. "We should take showers together more often." He said softly, his hands running to rub the soap into Cameron's sides.
The Prince and the Dragon.
Characters: Sebastian and Cameron Smythe.
Location: A Playground in France and the Smythe household.
Time: Either summer of '02 or '03.
Summary: It's summer time, and Sebastian and his brother is out playing. When a few elder kids decides to pick on Cameron, Sebastian experiences his trait for real for the first time.
Note: Not sure how much of this is the actual backstory to his discovery of the trait, and all that, it was just something I decided to write about a month ago - and I wasn't sure where to post it to let Zac read it so I figured I'd just post it here. There's also an explanation to that Dragon tattoo Sebastian wanted a while ago. Not really edited at all, and not really that great, but hey ho.
I couldn't come up with a title to fit this, so I just went with something.. Coming up with a title really isn't my thing. It was this or Mornie utúlië (Darkness has come) but I figured I could spare you all lyrics from LOTR soundtracks. Yeah.
Me and the dragon can chase all the pain away.
Cameron is on the swing, swinging faster and faster, higher and higher. He looks happy up there, and it almost looks like he's flying. Like Superman, his brother would say, but Sebastian likes dragons better. He'd like to be a dragon, because then he could roast everyone who tries to get in their way. Everyone fears the dragons, and dragons are heartless. He'd like to be, because he doesn't like feelings. Especially not when he can hear their mother tell their father what a bad child he is. But he pretends like he hasn't heard what she says. But Sebastian hears. And he wishes to be a dragon, but God yet have to listen, even though he prayed like Antoinette told him to do one time when he had broken a window when he was playing soccer. He couldn't work out why it didn't help, if God was supposed to such a great guy. Cameron probably knew, but he couldn't ask. He always told everyone how he thought books were stupid. Even his brother. They couldn't find out he liked to sneak up in the attic and read one of the books his grandfather had left behind. But Cameron isn't a dragon. Not at all. He's more like one of the princes in the tales. Prince Cameron.
”Sebby! Sebby!” Cameron shouts as he swings higher, with a tight grip of the swing. Only Cameron can call him that, even though they're already eight. And only Sebastian can call him Cammy. Even though he's high up in the air, he can see the happiness in his green eyes, and it makes him smile. Cameron says he likes to swing, because it makes him feel free. Sebastian isn't quite sure what that means exactly, but it's probably something meaningful. Whenever he goes on the swing all he can feel is how it tickles in his tummy whenever he swings high up in the air. Sometimes he giggles, because it feels funny.
”What?!” Sebastian shouts, as he's too far away still. He's making a cave in the sand. Like the one he'll live in one day. But Cameron will have a castle not far away. Because even dragons love their brothers.
”I'm hungry!” His brother shouts back, a wide smile on his face. Sebastian just nods, and gets up on his feet quickly. Their nanny Antoinette usually brings them to the park, and she always have sandwiches with her. Sandwiches with jam, chicken, tomatoes, ham, whatever they want. Then they all have a picnic in the green grass and Sebastian and Cameron silently pretends that Antoinette is their mother, and she makes them say every ingredient in French before they're allowed to eat. She can be rather cruel, but she's the most beautiful woman Sebastian has ever seen. Cameron said she's an angel, and Sebastian believes him. But he wonders where she hides the wings.
Today Antoinette isn't in the park with them, because they snuck out. It's Sunday, and Antoinette's day off. They still wanted to go, so Sebastian took Cameron's hand and they quietly ran through the big hall, and out of the big front door. Neither of them understood what the point of having such a big door was. It was almost like they were inviting the giants to come and eat them up, like Cameron had whispered late at night when they'd first arrived two years earlier. Sebastian had ran down to make sure the door was locked, just in case, because even if he is rather strong, he isn't sure if he could beat a man-eating giant just yet.
He finds Cameron's jacket thrown on the green bench. His pockets are stuffed with sweets, and it makes Sebastian giggle. He's like a hamster sometimes. Whilst Sebastian eats his candy in a heartbeat, Cameron saves it because maybe he wants some tomorrow. One time he forgot a banana under his pillow for a week. It was really funny, but Cameron didn't think so because he got mashed banana in his ear and started to cry. Sebastian hates it when he cries. One time he called him a big baby, and Cameron scratched his cheek. He finds the candy he's looking for in the left pocket. A candy bar. Baby Ruth. They'd managed to convince their father to import a whole box of them after Antoinette showed them The Goonies. It's their favourite, and sometimes they pretend they're off at one of the Goonies' adventures. He grabs the candy bar, and lets go off the jacket. Then he stops for a moment, studying it. His brother would probably be heartbroken if his jacket went missing, so Sebastian quickly grips it again. No need for Big Baby Cameron to make a comeback on a beautiful day like this. But it seems like the elder kids have other plans than Sebastian.
”You're one of the rich kids, eh?” The boy says and he recognises him. His name is Laurent, his American mother married a French man when she was young but he was cruel and she ran off with their son. Or at least that's what their nanny once told them when they passed them on their way to the grocery store. They live on the street now and there's nothing Laurent enjoys more than hating on the smaller kids. There's four of them, creating a ring around, blocking all possible escape ways. But Sebastian can see Cameron in the middle, there's a smaller wound on his knee and the blood is mixed with sand. He cusses him under his breath - Can't he ever jump off a swing without falling over like everyone else does?
”Oui.” Cameron's voice says quietly.
”I hate little brats like you, and what are you going to do? Neither mommy or daddy seem to be here to save your ass.” Sebastian grits his teeth. Laurent can have their house.. but he'd really miss his warm bed, because he doesn't think there's beds like that on the streets.
”I haven't done anything.”
”You annoy me.” Laurent frowned, before shaking his head. ”Those clothes must cost quite alot. What do you say boys?”
”I think so too.” His dark-haired companion replies, and the other two laughs.
”Hold him.” Cameron's eyes finds Sebastian's, anxious and scared. When he finds his brother's green eyes, he seems to calm down slightly, but he takes a step back, away from Laurent. It causes them to laugh again, Sebastian's body feels like it's on fire, the wrath of a dragon. If he opens his mouth now, he'll spit fire. Laurent and his friends will run around, screaming, and their eyes will reflect fear, not Cameron's. Everything in his body bubbles up, and just as he thinks he'll explode, Laurent lets out a scream. Two of the others have already gripped Cameron tightly, but they seem shocked and Sebastian's brother falls down into the sand.
Laurent continues to scream, his hands wrapping around the back of his head. Merde! Merde! Merde! There's blood dripping down between his fingers and down into the sand. Drip, drop, drip, drop. Slowly, Sebastian feels the anger leave his body but it's still there, aching and boiling. But a smirk forms on his lips before he remembers his brother. Cameron. He pulls the jacket on before rushing over.
”Leave him alone!” He spits out, like it was needed, they seemed to keep a distance from the elder Smythe boy. Cameron's eyes are wide, and filled with a different kind of fear. Laurent is screaming, and everyone is looking. Someone tells their husband to call an ambulance. There's a silence, except for the loud screams of pain and fear. Sebastian pulls Cameron up, dusting off his clothes to make sure the sand is gone.
”Are you alright?” He mumbles, gazing up at his brother. He nods. The anger runs off him and leaves him with a strange, but satisfying calm. Cameron's hand slides into Sebastian's and with a tight grip of each other's hands, they hurry home.
”How did you do it?” His brother's voice suddenly whispers later that night. It's dark, and they're cuddled up in Sebastian's bed. Their mother yelled at Cameron getting blood on his shorts (what would your father say if he knew that his sons can't even treat their clothes with respect?) and right after bedtime he stumbled into Sebastian's room, his eyes red and puffy, in need of comfort. He swallows, and thinks for a second before opening his mouth to reply.
”What?”
”Your eyes...” Cameron starts, but trails off. He doesn't know how to find words to describe it, but he knows what Sebastian's eyes looked like. They were deep, like the ocean they went to last summer, but yet there was like there was nothing there. Only a fire he would see many times growing up. A fire where the fuel was anger. Anger and hatred.
”I threw a stone.” Sebastian said after awhile, almost with a hint of excitement in his voice. ”A sharp stone.” He gazed at his brother in the dark for a few moments before opening his mouth again, letting out a yawn. ”Can we sleep now?” He mutters, and Cameron nods. But it takes a while before either of the boys manage to fall asleep, the memory of the recent event at the playground fresh in their memory, haunting them in their sleep.
Would is louder between Cameron and Blaine?
Oh, difficult one.
I'll have to go with Blaine though.
I assume he likes to let us know just how much he enjoys things.
