UX/UI WORKSHOP - APP DESIGN

Looking at creating an app for a customer that revolves around Lunch - my app is for the picky eaters who struggle to find what they want in a meal, but could also be used for those who are intolerant, allergic, vegan, or have any other dietary requirements. Fussy Pot is a rephrasing of the Granny lingo ‘Fuss Pot’, referring to someone very annoying and fussy about something in particular - in this case, food. 

This app is designed with four key features:

- Meal Build: allows users to add ingredients and build their own meals. The app will then locate nearby restaurants with dishes on the menu as close to perfect as possible.

- No Change: allows users to have live updates about food stocks in restaurants, the specials, and also any menu updates that may have come about. This means they don’t get faced with the unsavoury situation of going somewhere they thought was safe only to have an unexpected shortage or menu change to ruin their meal (and their day).

- That hits the spot: this allows users to keep a record of the restaurants that they’ve tried and liked - when in the vicinity of one of these restaurants, the app will alert the user that they are close by, and give the option to reserve a table if they wish to.

- Let’s Not: the partner of ‘that hits the spot’, ‘Let’s Not’ allows the user to create a list of restaurants they have tried and despised, making sure they never make a repeat mistake.

CRAP IT AND FUCK IT DEAD PAGES: Crap it and Fuck it are black pages and are only included to have a full circle of navigation and allow user to explore the prototype - both ideas were beyond my capabilities to prototype, and beyond my funds, as to use Google Maps in an app you have to pay for an API, money for which I don’t have. However, I have demonstrated in my sketchbook and on my blog how both features will work.

Below is a map created for the aesthetic of the app and Camden that would have been the style of map used in the Crap it and Fuck it sections.

In the Crap It section, the bottom corner pigeon, that you would be able to feed if I had the ability to prototype that function, would emerge from his corner and reveal his big big ass as seen below:

He doesn’t really need to be shown here, as he has already been shown, but he’s too sexy in his little DM’s not to give more time to.

USER TESTING OF WEBSITE - GOOGLE FORMS INSTRUCTION AND QUESTIONNAIRE WITH WRITTEN FEEDBACK

The written feedback from this questionnaire highlights key issues which, upon future prototyping, would be fixed in the following way:

- Camstagram boxes will be enlarged, and so will text, to make it more legible.

- Colour of Camstagram text will be revisited and possibly changed to white - if not changed, it will be modified and tested to get it to an appropriate level.

- Stickers will be given an ‘enlarging’ effect when hovered over to ensure that people are aware they are buttons to be clicked. 

- Second page pigeon head will be given dialogue to instruct the user to click to enter.

CHANGES ALREADY IMPLEMENTED:

- Whole of the Camdone logo will now redirect the user to the main navigation page, as opposed to only the pigeons head.
