Hey 🩷
Can you recommend some cute and comfortable outfits/sandals I could wear during my upcoming camping trip?
I may have a fashion crisis rn lmao
Lots of love 🩷
✧・゜: camping style guide :・゜✧
hey lovely! ✧
omg camping but make it cute? literally one of my favorite fashion puzzles to solve! i went camping last summer and had the same crisis, like how do i pack things that won't get ruined but also won't make me feel like i've completely abandoned my aesthetic for three days in the wilderness?
the secret is honestly all about clever layering and finding those magical pieces that somehow work for both function and cuteness. let me share what actually worked for me (and what absolutely did not!! still traumatized by the white shorts decision i made. never again.)
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ daytime outfit formula ・:࿔ೃ.⋆
high-waisted hiking shorts (the slightly longer ones from aerie are surprisingly cute and don't ride up when you're actually moving around)
oversized button-up shirts (the ones from uniqlo are perfect for throwing over tank tops and can be tied at the waist when it gets warm)
basic tank tops or cropped tees (bring more than you think you need, trust me on this)
one good pair of leggings with pockets (for chilly mornings or protection from bugs)
a lightweight cardigan that can be tied around your waist without looking bulky
the whole "shacket" trend is actually perfect for camping because you can wear them as light jackets in the morning and evening but tie them around your waist during the day without looking like a lost tourist.
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ sandal salvation ・:࿔ೃ.⋆
this is where i made my biggest mistake last time, cute sandals that destroyed my feet or practical ones that destroyed my soul. the ones that actually worked:
tevas in a cute color (the flatform ones somehow look cuter with sundresses than the regular ones)
birkenstocks (the waterproof eva ones can get wet and muddy without being ruined)
a pair of slip-on sneakers for around the campsite (the keds x rifle paper co ones are adorable and surprisingly durable)
whatever you do, break in any new sandals BEFORE the trip. the blisters i got from my cute new sandals literally almost ruined the whole experience.
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ evening cozy vibes ・:࿔ೃ.⋆
evenings by the campfire are where you can actually lean into the aesthetic without sacrificing comfort:
oversized sweatshirts (the slightly cropped ones still look cute but keep you warm)
joggers instead of sweatpants (they look so much more put together but feel just as cozy)
a simple slip dress with a chunky cardigan (sounds impractical but was actually perfect for a warmer night)
fuzzy socks (because cold feet at night are the absolute worst)
⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ tiny extras that make a difference ・:࿔ೃ.⋆
a cute bucket hat or baseball cap (sun protection that's also giving main character energy)
bandanas or mini scarves (can be tied in your hair, around your neck, or even as a top in a pinch)
gold-toned minimal jewelry that won't tarnish (small hoops and dainty necklaces elevate even the most basic outfits)
tinted lip balm with spf (the summer fridays one is my holy grail for outdoor adventures)
camping is one of those rare times when practicality actually has to come first (i learned this the hard way), but that doesn't mean abandoning your style completely! it's all about finding those perfect pieces that live in the magical middle.
sending you all the cozy campfire vibes for your trip!
xoxo, mindy 🤍
