Right staff is the key for camp’s success
A lot of factors are involved in success of the camp. One of the key factors is hiring the right staff. Campers want to be around the staff that represents them. Kids need someone with whom they feel something common to connect. Here are some hiring tips for the management:
Recruit from different organizations
Management should hire diverse group intentionally. Usually management hires chefs, nurses and other professionals with a lot of care but tend to be less careful when hiring general staff.General staff should be hired with equal care.
Develop partnerships with different organizations
Management should partner with different organizations such as USACA. These organizations help camp management to find the best, talented pool of staff for their camp. The USACA outreach explains to parents the benefits of staff diversity and helps drive more campers into camp programs.
Develop a strong team internally
If you had a good experience with a staff once, then it’s better to retain them. It’s difficult to carry out the complete hiring process every summer. Sustaining the existing employees leads to success of the camp. It saves cost and time and guarantees quality output.
