Hi! Sorry to bother you I just had a quick question: I've noticed you speak French (and I think, if I'm right, Quebecois? I saw something about poutine?). I have to pass a French competency exam in November(specifically using newspapers/gov't articles from Quebec, because my thesis is on a regiment from Montreal) and I was wondering if you thought maybe Voltron's dub was well translated enough to practice on? I know some dubs are awful but I'm not good enough yet to tell on my own :< ty!

Haha yes, I’m actually in Montreal myself!

For the Voltron dub, I find that I’m quite enjoying it actually! I personally think it’s quite well done. One thing to note though is that it’s in France French as opposed to Quebec French. Some of the expressions are different so it might be confusing

What about instead of being American, the kids were Canadian:

John and Jane live in Abbotsford, Dave lives either in Calgary or Montréal, Rose lives somewhere in Ontario, not super close to all those towns, but a little bit, you know what I mean. And Jade either lives around Haida Gwaii or, for something different and cold, an island up in Nunavut.

[S] Virtual Cascade Meet-up (Canadastuck, Saskstuck)

I'm looking to organize a virtual meetup to celebrate the 14-year anniversary of [S] Cascade for October 25th, 2025. (It's on a Saturday!)

More details to come but I'd like to get a group together, and to host it all on Discord.

In-person options would be discussed once I've gauged interest, but Discord might make it even more accessible for even more folks to attend across provinces.

hey i saw u were thinking about applying to field school and weren't sure of the $$ (and covid which honestly fair) but i also know ur in Canada and there are scholarships you can apply for specifically to go to field school, both for undergrads and for grad school. u can also usually apply for bursaries if ur in AB as it's a one-off expense that improves ur school experience, especially if u can demonstrate the bursary is what will allow u to go

If you use chrome try adding the extension tumblr saviour maybe? You can blacklist words (works better than xkit for catching them Ive found) and so long as the word is mentioned anywhere in the post (unfortunately doesn't work with it being a part of a jpeg) it blocks it from your dash. That's how I've been managing things

Yeah, I have that one. There’s so much that is really hard to block cause not everyone uses the same words and my dash is just going to become a page of blocked posts. Plus a lot of yesterday I was on my phone so nothing was being blocked anyways. My list for that extension is so long lol

Haha, I’m glad I could brighten your day! I’ll admit, I’m a bit new to the Ulster Cycle (which is a shame, because it’s great), but I love mythology and folklore.
