Rest In Peace, Clyde...I Miss You Already.
Sad news today...at least for me, a certain special cat who I formed a bond with, just passed away, somewhere around 12:42 last night...my fathers cat, and I just saw the text message relaying the news this morning...I'm just happy that, unlike most of my own pets, I got to say goodbye, even when I was uncertain if it would be the last time I saw him. He was in rough shape the last time I saw him...happy, but unhealthy, dying...he kept my spirits up when I was at my lowest, like all of my pets, and once again, I had to say goodbye for one last time...as used to that sorrow I am, it doesn't get any easier, and doesn't hurt any less...Clyde, my sweet kitty, even though you were never technically mine, I loved you as much, and I won't miss you any less then the pets that WERE mine...you made seeing my biological father every once in awhile worth it- and I'm going to miss those few happy memories...I've always felt closer to most animals rather than people...a blessing and a curse, because I have to say goodbye much sooner than I would to most people...and in this case, it was MUCH, MUCH sooner in terms of cat years...14 years, is still pretty old for a cat...but in better conditions, you could have made it maybe 4 more years on average...I regret not just stealing you away from that environment so many times, even if I couldn't keep you myself, and I had to take you to a shelter, where maybe you could have lived a happier life for the rest of your days, even if I never saw you again, It would have been worth it in my heart to know you were happier...It would have been so easy, to just hide you away in my dufflebag and slip out as I always did, in the chaos of that house...but I couldn't do it, out of fear...so this is bittersweet for me. Knowing you aren't suffering anymore, and aren't alone up there either, but also knowing that I might have been able to prolong your life with loved ones down here as well...human emotion, so confusing, am I right? Heh...I miss you buddy, but don't worry about me. Just do me a favor, ok? Tell your brother and my boys I say hi, ok? I love you, old friend. I'll see you again someday. Goodbye.
