"Okay, I go find book!" Luna sings, before going around and looking for the book so she can read it for her. Shouldn't be too hard, right? It's just a book!
"WHAT?!" Candra shouts. "WHY?!?!"
"You read book for trip, right?" Luna asks.
"Yeah, I know!" Candra says through her teeth, looking frustrated. "But I have to be the one to read it, not you!! Why do you care so much, anyway?? Do you want a library card?!"
"Give me book!!" Luna shouts.
"YOUR READING LEVEL IS TOO LOW!!!" Candra shouts back.
"GIVE ME BOOK!!!!!!" Luna shouts again at Candra.
I'm getting back into Wandersong, and with that comes the ET AU! chapter 10 is out now!
(Shard) it is the crack of dawn, and y’all get my rambles about my ideas of delphiswap au. pull up a seat, get ready.
ahem
The Coffee Pirates and the Chaandesh Princesses
Two groups of five people. The perfect recipe for disaster, am I right?
Captain Lucas = Hala
Nina = Candra
Penny = Purnima
Francisco = Amaris
Lou = Badriyah
Also, for extra fun, because the relationship with the Chaandesh Princesses and their mother the Queen is just too complicated and personal to them, and Lucas pretty obviously isn’t related to her or any of the royalty we’re familiar with...
Ruby is now the Queen of Chaandesh!
So wait, what’s the deal?? How can you even substitute that many people for each other, you ask? Here’s a quick summary of how their roles in the story have changed:
Lucas is the Chaandesh Prince who ran away from his home, being too optimistic about wanting to end the war, and got killed somewhere on the border. His friends of nobility, Nina, Penny, Francisco, and Lou are understandably distraught and grieving their lost friend. (Also, they’re all witches now!)
Meanwhile, Hala is no longer dead, and is a badass pirate princess who leads all of her sisters together in a super cool band of pirates. As a result of, y’know, being away from their overbearing mother, and also Hala not being dead, all of them are very happy being coffee pirates. Hala’s search for the mermaids stems from her encounter with one having saved her life once, and she wants to repay them for the favor.
(Somewhere in Langtree, a grumpy old lady sits in her recliner, thinking to herself, if she'd been a better mother, her daughters wouldn't be pirates...)
Ruby is still a sour, grumpy old lady, and about as terrible as the original Queen in not wanting to end the war with Rulle. She’s a bit kinder to Lucas on account of him being her only successor.
There’s a whole headcanon in the Wandersong fandom about how Ruby and Grandma Saphy are related, too, right? Yep, in this AU, they’re sisters! And that means...
The Queen of Chaandesh is Miriam’s grandaunt. And Lucas is sort of an uncle to her now.
Miriam gets two dead relatives in this AU, unfortunately!
Image description: Sketches. On the left is Miriam in a suit, thinking, “The freaking QUEEN of Chaandesh is my GRANDAUNT????”. On the right, she’s crying, hugging herself, as a ghost Grandma Saphy looks on sadly, and ghost Prince Lucas is whispering, “Aw, don’t cry, my niece...”
Hala: I've done a lot of dumb stuff
Badriyah: I witnessed the dumb stuff
Amaris: I recorded the dumb stuff
Candra: I joined in on the dumb stuff
Purnima: I TRIED TO STOP YOU FROM DOING THE DUMB STUFF!
