Are you certain you’re ready for twins…?
I don't know, Dr. Lecter. I don't... ooooh boy. I think I need t'put my head between my knees. M'feeling light-headed.

Evening, Doctor~

1: What are your thoughts on Dr. Lecter?
Keysmash x5 paragraphs. I see Dr Lecter as something so monstrous, but also so beautifully well-adjusted within his own parameters, that he’s a one-man society. The theory he espouses regarding degenerate behavior being defined or invalidated by the social expectations of a group is perhaps the most pertinent thing that he’s inadvertently said about himself. We know his childhood traumatized him; we know he’s not a pure psychopath or sociopath. So while we can’t accurately judge what psychological proclivities he had before the events that shaped him, we can surmise that he adapted to the world as he encountered it, and learned to rise to the top of the food-chain of dangers he encountered. I think Dr Lecter still sees the world, the people in it, and his actions towards them through the lens of this experience: whether because he psychologically froze there, whether it’s a bitter unwillingness to forgive, or whether it triggered a latent need and/or desire to kill, I don’t tend to speculate. But to his own mind, and within his own context, he is a self-controlled individual who has worked hard to perfect himself. The problem is that his rulebook is so different to everyone else’s that he has no society from which ‘acceptable’ praise or censure can originate. That’s what he looks for in Will, and later in Clarice.
I’m definitely on board with Hannibal being a monster, but I think we’d view a headhunting cannibal from New Guinea as a monster, if dropped into our society. Hannibal’s monstrosity doesn’t come from his cannibalism or his murder; it comes from the self-aware and persistent disregard for the suffering of others in lieu of his own world view.
4: What ship do you ship the most?
Hannibal/Will (in a certain context), Will/Katz, Will/his unobtainable never-ending crush on Alana. Also Katz/firearms. Hottest OTP on the show.
7: What’s your favorite “Somebody Please Help Will Graham” poster?
I fail at the internet, and haven’t actually had a chance to look through them. Normally I wait for the wilmgraams peanut edition.
12: Do you have a favorite RP blog related to the show?
I always knew afteryourdeathormine would be an amazing Hannibal. I just didn’t know quite how phenomenal. But also cannibalscompulsion, who doesn’t actually know me from Adam, but friended me on a different account way back when. You could say I ‘grew up’ reading them in this fandom, and I still do. You should all go harass them both.
17: What song best represents the show to you?
Placebo – Meds.
19: Which episode is your favorite?
Buffet Froid. It was the first episode to get the hair on the back of my neck to stand up, and the subtle but undeniable difference in horror between the gape of Beth LeBeau’s jaw and Dr Sutcliffe’s really brought home the extent of what Hannibal is physically capable of while wearing a suit.
21: Have you ever considered eating someone who was rude to you?
Not yet. Mostly because I’d find cooking more torturous than they’d find the torture. I burn water.
25: What moment in the season finale made you suffer from the most feels?
When Jack said “I wanted to be the one to do this.” Because that was so right and so wrong and so intimate and so horrific.
Happy Birthday, Mr. Wayne-Latigue.
Thank you, Dr. Lecter. I hope, since now I'm back from my vacation, I can schedule myself back in for regular appointments?
