So my mate canth? has just gotten married, and the American government celebrates this by stripping her of her disability simply because her new husband had money saved to pay for his immigration paperwork.
They want her to pay back the month of May and won't help her until they're destitute. Both of them are artists. canth? creates beautiful pieces of embroidery, drawings, jewellery, head wear and paintings. Her new husband is an artist and a writer.
To me this seems further support that the USA punishes the poor, it punishes the disabled, it punishes the artists and those who it should support. What kind of place does all it can to keep the poor poorer, and punishes any kind of strive towards the so called American Dream?
I am not American. I can't understand this kind of mindset. Perhaps I am naive, but I would hope the USA would want to be a better place, with better people who help their fellow countrymen instead of stab them in the back.
Please help my friend. I can only do so much.
Love should not have to pay this kind of price.
