Made a lil thing cuz I 🖤 CHAZ. If you haven't been to the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (see my previous post), it is a peaceful community space where people are gathering to take care of each other and discuss action to best support BIPOC, hear them speak, and join in the fight against police brutality. There are no walls, just a perimeter to protect from cars. Restaurants, businesses, apartments are all operating as usual in and around the area. It is beautiful and inspiring, and the media is severely twisting what is actually happening here. Come see for yourself, or listen to people organizing there, and while you are at it consider donating to help any organization that is supporting BIPOC in your community. • A note: I got a lot of hateful and misinformed comments on my previous post, largely due to the false narrative fox news is spreading to control how this is viewed. They are straight making things up, photoshopping pics, and they have been called out and debunked by various other news sources. It was TGIF, even in the #CHAZ. I’ve been trapped at my computer for what feels like weeks, 💻 so this afternoon I ran an errand and decided to check out the scariest place in Seattle.🎯 I’m talking about the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, the location of the former Seattle Police Department east precinct, 👮🏾 now relabeled “The Seattle People Department.” The violent demonstrations of the past week seemed to be on pause. It wasn’t scary—It felt like a gigantic block party. 🎉  The streets and buildings are painted with #blacklivesmatter art, and boarded up windows are now covered with murals.🎨 There were live music performances, 🎼 sidewalk vendors and tons of people taking photos and videos.📱 Six city blocks are closed off to cars and filled with people. 🚧The majority were wearing masks.😷 Capitol Hill is the center of a national debate. Should anarchists be allowed to call the shots?✊ For now it’s peaceful.☮️ But what happens next?
