“WEB-BASED BARANGAY INFORMATION AND MANAGEMENT SYSTEM OF BARANGAY PALA-O IN THE CITY OF ILIGAN” update-August 12, 2022

We, the proponents, were able to conduct an interview with our Capstone's target client. However, it was not yet finished as the admin staff were only present today and the gathered data was not enough for us, as we also needed the Kagawads’ and the chairman's side too. With that, we are scheduled to conduct an interview again tomorrow. Despite that, I still feel thankful for today's capstone progress, despite the problems or hardship I encountered with my teammates. I felt determined as our capstone instructor checked and commented on our proposed system, saying that our paper is good, with no errors, and the only problem is that I forgot to paste the reference part. I feel so proud of it and I do hope to continue the good progress output of the capstone project. And for today's progress, again, we were able to conduct an interview, and it's not yet finished, and now I'm still slowly working on the methodology part, trying to understand the application of our selected model for our proposed system, which is the Incremental SDLC Model.

Capstone Week 1

My project Title:

An Algorithm for Predicting Grab User Booking Behavior to Maximize Profit

Introduction to the Research Question:

(research question)

The purpose of this study was to identify the significant factors that are associated with the user’s choice of putting a request to book the taxi via Grab mobile app. The aim was that by focusing on these factors or variables such as unit price, recent discount, distance from destination, and previous behavior patterns, one could be able to predict whether there is a higher or lower chance for the customer to book the taxi service using the Grab app.

 (motivation & rationale)

Instead of calling for normal taxi, there must be more that Grab could offer when one choose to use Grab mobile app to book the service. From the Grab company’s perspective, it is important to have a better understanding of factors that are most likely to affect users’ final decision on requesting services. And this enables decision makers in Grab to focus on those significant and tune-able factors to maximize the profit for the company.

 (potential implications)

Predictable customer behavior pattern can help Grab build more profitable and customized algorithms. Meanwhile, it would also satisfy customers’ desire by providing reasonable price and fair discounts under different circumstances when the service is requested.

Huhuhu, So ayun, nag decide ako na i-take yung Capstone 1 (thesis yung tawag sa iba) na mag-isa. Kasi ayoko maiwan yung groupmate ko na mag-isa, kapag natuloy na kami to leave the country. Kasi ang gulo, like di pa sur ekung kelan ba aalis. Huhuhu. E ngayon may choice sya na sumama dun sa iba naming tropa. By 3′s kasi yung grouping samin, tas apat kami na magtr-tropa. So nahati kami sa dalawang group.Tig-dalawa. Bukas kailangan na magpasa ng groupings at topic. Huhuhuhu. Kaya ginawa ko tong decision na to. Tama ba? Huhuhu.. Di ko na alam. Ayoko lang mang-iwan sa ere sa kalagitnaan ng Capstone. :( -42916
