Top 5 of my favorite Archie Sonic characters.

Warning:

This list will not include central characters such as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy Rose, Princess Sally, Eggman, the Freedom Fighters, etc. This list will focus more on original Archie Sonic characters or characters that didn't have much prominence.

5 - Captain Metal.

Okay, I know I said "there won't be any central characters" and Metal Sonic counts as that, BUT... Captain Metal is such a different and cool version of Metal Sonic that I can't leave him out! Anyway, Captain Metal is amazing, I love how he was the Metal Sonic that Shadow and Blaze defeated in the first "Sonic Universe" comic and was rebuilt to become a pirate, it's perfect. Besides, he must be one of the few characters who survived the Archie reboot, and that's interesting to know. Plus, he can speak with a funny accent and he has a robotic KRAKEN, how can you not find that incredible?! Captain Metal is a villain who should reappear, I would love to see him as Blaze's "rival," because he clearly tried to break Blaze by trying to kill Amy, Marine, and Cream. If he doesn't come back, at least they should make some kind of pirate Metal Blaze, or something like that, because I think Captain Metal was a great idea for a rival for Blaze, he could have been her nemesis. And also, his look is great, I can't let that go unnoticed.

4 - Clove and Cassia.

Two characters with immense tragedy, not only in their history but also in their potential.

Clove and Cassia became some of my favorite characters the more I read about them, and I was excited to see more in future appearances. I loved that neither of them are bad people and they're only by Eggman's side because of terrible circumstances. Cassia had some kind of illness that caused parts of her body to stop functioning and was forced to receive cybernetic implants from Eggman to stay alive, while Clove was forced to work for Eggman and LIE to her sister about a possible cure (which doesn't exist).

Unfortunately, when the Archie universe ended, these two never appeared again in anything related to Sonic, and we never got a conclusion to their story, which is a shame because I wanted to see more of their character development. Like, Cassia had an interesting rivalry with Bunnie Rabbot, because both were forced to have cybernetic implants in their bodies, but Bunnie had friends and family to help her, while Cassia only had Clove and only managed to stay alive because of Eggman. Clove is a benevolent person and she wanted to abandon Eggman when Cassia was cured, but because of Eggman's lies and manipulation, she's now trapped in a sick agreement and is lying to her sister to keep her alive with the implants. Honestly, this was one of the most interesting parts of the reboot for me and I would love it if both of them appeared in the IDW universe or something like that, because they had a lot of potential and had a very tragic relationship.

I love these characters so much that I had to count them both as ONE character.

3 - Gold The Tenrec.

Gold is perhaps the character who suffered the most on this list, because not only did she lose her world, but she was adopted by a council that only wanted to keep an eye on her psychic powers. However, the worst thing that happened to her was that she had fewer than 5 appearances and hasn't returned to this day. Look, I can understand IDW's reasons for not including Captain Metal, Clove, and Cassia in the comics, because they would have to explain a lot, including Clove and Cassia's stories in a different way. BUT... I can't understand why we don't have Gold in the IDW comics. She could very well be a time traveler like Silver, or they could show Silver's future and introduce Gold through that, but for some reason, SEGA/IDW haven't done that yet, and that confuses me.

Well, Gold is an interesting character because she also has psychic/telepathic powers similar to Silver's, and their relationship had immense potential, something like mentor and apprentice. Unfortunately, the Archie reboot ended before we could see more of Gold, and the last time we saw her was being sucked into a portal.

2 - Dimitri.

Despite the various strange things Ken Penders did with Sonic, I've always been a fan of Dimitri's character, even after he stopped being Enerjak, because his origin was interesting and showed that he had noble goals, but ended up being corrupted by Enerjak's power and became a villain. However, even though Dimitri was a villain most of the time, he slowly became a more benevolent character because he began to focus more on the survival of his people and even his family (even if his methods weren't the best). To this day, one of my favorite scenes from Archie Sonic was when Dimitri tried to comfort Nicole when she was being judged by the Mobians, and I thought that was really cool to see; they both truly deserved better despite their pasts. In the end, Dimitri disappeared along with several other characters thanks to Ken Penders. I hope Dimitri returns to the comics someday and that his friendship with Nicole is developed again.

1 - Enerjak (all versions).

I believe it's obvious why I love Enerjak, isn't it? He's an incredible villain, his design in all his versions is beautiful (especially Dark Enerjak), and I think to this day there's never been a villain on the same power level as Enerjak. Seriously, this guy alone is capable of fighting Knuckles, Super Sonic, and the Freedom Fighters without even trying. Of course, there's also the Dark Enerjak version, and he was able to kill all the heroes and villains in his universe, he gave Silver and the surviving heroes a hard time, and he was able to transform the life force of several characters into "robots."

There's not much I can say about Enerjak, he's awesome, his design is incredible, he's intimidating, and he deserves to return to the Sonic franchise someday.

A little headcanon I have for Jackie is that she has a hyperfixation for pirates. When I learned about Captain Metal from the Archie comics, I thought it would be fun for Jackie to have an interest towards pirates, and anything related to the ocean.
