• Hip sliding some on the berth as Skywarp nuzzles against you, the seeker hisses suddenly and you roll onto your side to watch Starscream hauling his brother away from you by a wing. And they’re both growling at each other in their language, wings up, and plating lifting. Making you think of two cats, fur standing on end. You don’t dare point that out to either of them, though. Glancing at Thundercracker, the other mech shrugs slightly. Apparently not wanting anything to do with the squabble.

• Growling at Star, he hates that the other mech assumes he’s going to hurt you. And he doubts Star is the only one that feels that way. They’re both always after him like they think he’s an immature sparkling. Like he’s dumber than they are when he just wants them to see him. Treat him like an equal, as more than a convenient ability. “Humans need to be handled gently,” Star growls. Does Starscream really think he doesn’t know that? ‘Frag you,’ he growls back and he hears Thundercracker vent as the other seeker moves closer to you.

• Rumbling tiredly as he pulls the tiny bag of human food from subspace and bends down to offer it to you, he keeps an optic on his brothers. Mostly on their wings flicking and flaring out aggressively as they argue in Cybertronian. Knows you can’t understand them, but you’re still frowning like you can tell the argument is about you. “Aren’t you going to stop them?” You ask, taking the bag from him and not bothering to open it even though you must be hungry. ‘If I get involved, it’s only going to get uglier. They’ll work it out.’

• “Stop treating me like I’m an idiot,” Skywarp snarls, wings trembling and Starscream’s jaw clenches. Because it’s hard to resist when Skywarp makes it so easy. ‘Stop acting like one, then. They’re too small to be rough with,’ he mutters, glancing at you watching them both, brow furrowed. “Frag you,” Skywarp snarls again, shoving him back a step. ‘Real mature.’ Watching the other seeker stare at you in passing and then storm out of the habsuite. Throwing a tantrum every time he’s reprimanded, but that’s nothing new.

• “You get used to it,” Thundercracker says, nudging your elbow with a servo to snap you out of staring at the door. ‘He wasn’t hurting me,’ you say, turning toward Starscream. ‘Yet. He never took great care of his toys,’ Starscream growls and you freeze. Toys? It’s a reminder that you’re not like them. Not equal in their minds. Shoulders hunching, what appetite you had is immediately gone. Is that how they all view you? A plaything? Hear Thundercracker growl at Starscream in their language and the seeker grimaces. ‘That came out wrong,’ he says as you only nod, hurt that he’d said it at all.
