What’s that sound? Ah, the roaring crowd for the start of a Quidditch match! (Part 1)
Up until her fourth year, Pidge didn't even consider trying out for the team. Since her first year, she preferred chilling in the commentator's box alongside Matt, who was the actual commentator. Eventually, she made the team as a reserve Seeker, mostly because she showed up to the tryouts purely out of boredom.
Lance became a proud Chaser after passing the tryouts in his second year. He really wanted to compete against Keith, but unfortunately (and slightly to his horror), Keith ended up becoming a Beater for his team.
During one of the games, Lotor pulled a really dirty move, launching a ball straight at Shiro. It caused Shiro not only to fall off his broom but also to sustain injuries serious enough that he had to step down from playing for the rest of the year. But instead of abandoning his team during his recovery, Shiro was awarded the Captain's badge — something Lotor never managed to achieve.
