What can you tell us about Maru and Rann? o.o

Maru is a sarcastic dickbag who gets dragged from his life of self-imposed isolation ‘cause he has to help Caralyn (the protagonist) get back to her world. He doesn’t talk about his past much, but he mentions having a younger brother sometimes. He openly admits to being a liar, but is the sort to never break a promise directly. Maru claims he does everything to avoid danger, yet seems to have a knack for finding it anyway.

Rann is the guardian (protector) and fiancée to the princess of Craen, Terametta. He prefers actions over words, and takes his duties seriously. Rann’s unstoppable with a sword, and has the strength to tear monsters in half, but he’s a pacifist at heart. He doesn’t talk about his past much, but mentions he was considered unlucky by his original home. There’s someone he’s searching for in order to repay a great debt, but he doubts he’ll find her.

“I didn’t magically turn guilty while I was asleep, handsome.” Maru looked Rann up and down and quietly chuckled. “How about after I’m declared innocent at the trial, you take me on a date?”

Rann blinked, and it was the first time Caralyn had seen him look surprised. “Oh… Did I not tell you? I’m engaged.”

Both Maru and Caralyn gaped at the man. “You’re engaged?”
