TV series meme: Legend of Korra!

Give me a TV series and I’ll tell you:

Favourite character: Korra :D

Funniest character: Bolin

Best-looking character: Korra, esp with the shorter hair

3 favourite ships: Korra/Asami, Kya/Lin, Bolin/Opal

Least favourite character: I grew attached to Mako later but I did not like him in first season

Least favourite ship: Mako/Korra

Reason why I watch it: it was the successor to atla with a female lead, how could I not. (that it actually ended with femslash is a major bonus for me)

TV series meme: Moondreamers!

Favourite character: Whimzee! She is one of the earliest (if not THE earliest) characters I remember actually identifying with, because she was creative and I was creative!

Funniest character: Celeste.

3 favourite ships: I never know how appropriate it is to ship characters from a kids’ show but they ARE actually adults like they have jobs and whatever and there’s canonical one-sided pining if not actual romance... I don’t have any pairings I’m super into but I feel like Whimzee/Crystal, Whimzee/Sparky or Whimzee/Celeste would be cute.

Least favourite character: Bucky Buckaroo. 

Least favourite ship: Bucky/Crystal. Even as a kid I couldn’t be bothered with it.

Reason why I watch it: Because it’s a super-cute low-effort show about a community of women working together to create something cool. (The cool thing they create is dreams for the Earth children.)

Why I started watching it: Because someone gave it to me on VHS!

Video game meme: 20, 29! :)

20. What was the first video game you ever played?

Ever? Oh wow. Probably the gorillas DOS game around like... 1992? Our monitor was just yellow lines on a black background, no color. I was like four so my dad mostly played both sides and my brother and I cheered a lot.

29. Which is more important, gameplay or story?

I think obviously both is ideal, but I’ve had fantastic experiences where it was either one or the other. I’ve gone on at length in the past about the importance of storytelling in gaming and at this point I think it’s pretty self-evident that I’ll play anything with a good story, but Titanfall always comes to mind as the counterexample--the plot is basically nonexistent and really goofy, but the sense of movement in that game is stunning. Just jumping from wall to wall and building speed is mesmerizing, and I’m happy to do just that without any compelling plot-related reason to do so. Another game with limited plot that I adore is XCOM: Enemy Unknown. The tactics and strategy and weird tendency to love every interchangeable pawn like they’re your children makes for a really fun experience.

Kes: If you could have one super power, what would it be?

I never know what to answer to this one! In terms of, like, genuinely superheroic powers, maybe healing? For a more minor one, I’d love the power to remember the plots of the books I’ve read for more than five minutes after I finish them...

Worf: Are you a serious person or someone who likes to joke around a lot?

you know, I’m honestly not sure - I feel like however I answer this one someone will say ‘pfft NO, that’s not you.’  I do prefer to keep things light-hearted, and I do deflect with humour, but that doesn’t mean I don’t take things seriously.  I just... probably don’t want to let people know it, until necessary.  yeah, that’ makes sense.

The Doctor: If you had to choose a new name for yourself, what would it be?

oh man!  well, my mom wanted to name me tatiana before I was born; I feel like I might’ve been an interesting person if I’d grown up with that name, but I’m not sure I’d choose it for me now.  it’d probably have to be something beginning with k; I don’t think I could give up being kk.

Phlox: Favorite animal?

THERE ARE SO MANY AND I WANT TO CUDDLE THEM ALL.

hee!  I was thinking about this one earlier, so:

15. A femslash pairing I like without even being in the fandom

...because there aren’t a lot, you know?  there are a handful I’ve been annoyed out of by fannish osmosis, if anything.  but I think my answer has to be sharon/brenda, from the closer and major crimes.  and I mean part of this is: mary mcdonnell as a cop.  but there’s also a smallish cluster of good fic, and I really like the frenemies trope and what I’ve seen of the two characters and their interactions.  so I’m just over here in the corner choosing to believe that the fic is totally canon. :D

2. Favorite femslash ship of all times

Oh wow... this is difficult! I’m not sure I can even pick one! But Deanna/Beverly is probably the relationship that I’ve stayed the most consistently invested in, whether it’s as a romance or a friendship, so maybe that?

14. A fandom where I have so many femslash ships

STAR TREK. I mean, this is not news to anyone who has known me for more than five seconds but, with the exception of J7, I pretty much ship every Star Trek lady with every other Star Trek lady to some degree or another, to the point where you can give me two random names and I will happily ramble for hours about how they might work as a couple.

In fact I created a whole pairing generator just for this purpose, which just gave me the intriguing pairing Leah Brahms/Amanda Grayson. So there we go.

Character meme: Pulaski!

My NOTP for them - I don’t think I have one!

My BROTP for them - Worf! It’s so sweet how she saves him from embarrassment and they do the tea ceremony together! Also I love how she warms to Data and grows to understand him over the course of her one season - I think if she’d been on the show longer that could have blossomed into something really special.

My OTP for them - Deanna Troi. I don’t necessarily think they should be together forever, but it is definitely the pairing I’m most into for her! I really like their dynamic, I really wish we could have seen more of it.

My second choice pairing for them - I do have a pretty big soft spot for her old flame Kyle Riker. 

My fluffy pairing for them - Still Deanna. ;)

My angsty pairing for them - I guess you could count her thing with Kyle as angsty, but apart from that I don’t really have one!

My favorite poly ship for them - I see her more as serially monogamous and keeping all her exes as friends and occasional no-strings sex partners.

My weirdest pairing for them - I don’t think any of them are weird, but some people think shipping Pulaski at all is weird. But eh, screw them.
