Not to get real on main but as time goes on I feel how all the stress, exhaustion and this numb feeling is catching up with me after living through an active war for, what, like almost 4 years already?
I am genuinely impressed that I can still maintain a positive attitude a lot of the times, despite how tired, sleep-deprived, constantly tense I feel on the inside. This numbness is always there, the fear of "will I die today to a missile/drone?" is always present, running somewhere at the back of my mind as I go about my day, work on art, chat with friends and all that.
Crazy how a human psyche can adapt to the worst shit in the world aka getting bombed constantly, living while focusing mostly on the right here and right now because plans for the tomorrow, let alone for the next few years, is a luxury. But adapting doesn't mean that you're still fine after all that. On some days, like today, I feel like a husk of a person I was before. I don't have the energy for a lot of things because of how mentally and physically exhausting everything is irl rn.
And don't get me started on how it feels to see ruzzia and ruzzians go unpunished for so fucking long. It drives me mad. Feels like the world cares less and less, with news about Ukraine appearing once in a blue moon everywhere else. Meanwhile, we are still being genocided. Residential areas get shelled, critical infrastructure gets bombed. All that still happens, daily.
We do persevere, yes, no one here wants to surrender and get quietly killed off by ruzzians while they fully take over our cities, erasing our culture, our language, us as a nation, as a people.
But seeing less and less support hurts. That's why I do my best to share the news, to educate people.
And to those who truly care and have been supporting Ukraine and our people, I am incredibly grateful! The fact that y'all care, share information and news, amplify our voices is enough to keep me going 🙏
