Does it stretch? Then it's polyester. Your only other option to figure out the fibers is a burn test: http://www.dharmatrading.com/home/the-fire-test.html

Hello! I was wondering if I could ask you some advice for dying clothes, specifically velvet. If you've tried it before, what brands work best?

It all depends on the fiber making up the velvet. Rayon and silk velvets work well with acid dyes, but if it’s polyester velvet (such as stretch velvet), it can’t be dyed. Take a look at the Choosing Your Dye and Paint FAQ over at Dharma Trading for really good information.

I think it's colored hair spray that they use to make his hair that color :)

hmmm.. maybe it is.. but I’m kind of not convinced.. and if it’s true, it would be a bit concerning cuz it might damage his hair~~ it’s better if he wore a wig =)
