Another Contestant Chapter 1-14: Brunch of Disgustingness
After Leshawna found out who her secret admirer was, and especially after she found out what got him eliminated, she's been kinda testy. Mostly around Chef and Chris, who've been 'secretly' laughing about something all morning.
Trent, the last person to enter the cafeteria, asked the men about the lack of food, "What? No breakfast?"
I add, "Yeah. It's weird to see Chef on this side of the cafeteria."
Chris responds with a huge smile, "Oh, don't worry, you two. There will be plenty of of food later on."
He and his friend cover their mouths with their hands - poorly, might I add - and fail to cover the sounds of their snickering.
Leshawna asks, "What are you two bozos so giggly about?"
The men snicker again, and Chris says, "Congratulations to the remaining 10 campers for reaching the halfway mark in the competition! You'll all be on the jury for the final episode."
Geoff exclaims, "We got the power! Yeah!"
I say, "Hold on. 10 campers? But there's 11 of us."
Chris's smile widens, and he says, "Right, right. My mistake, Carmen. Anyway, the two teams will become one next week. But first, all the girls will be moved to the Gopher cabin, and all the guys will stay in the Bass cabin. This week's challenge is as old as history itself; a battle of the sexes!"
Lindsay blows a raspberry at that, and I fight the urge to make a remark. It's only for one challenge, right?
Chris's continues, "After everyone is settled in, you'll have a, uh... bite to eat." The men snicker again, and he adds, "Ready for a little good news? This week, no one will be kicked off."
The others cheer, but I have to wonder if he's hiding something behind that smug smile of his. And he was clearly not misspeaking when he said 10 campers. And what about breakfast? Please tell me it's not a fasting challenge or something.
Chris's continues, "It's all for reward, and it's a good one. Okay, time to relocate. Let's move!"
As we start leaving the cafeteria to either pack up or help others pack up, Chris and Chef start snickering again. What are they hiding?
I help Bridgette carry her bags into our cabin, and Heather walks up to her, saying, "Wow, your hair looks great today. So natural."
Bridgette says, "Thanks, I-"
Heather interrupts her, asking, "How do you take care of it? You have to share your secret."
Bridgette responds nervously, "Oh, uh, it's nothing really."
Gwen says to the surfer girl, gesturing to Heather, "Watch it with this one. She's trouble."
Heather shrugs at the dig, and slings an arm around my shoulder, saying, "I'm taken anyways, so don't go getting any ideas."
I blush, and remove Heather's arm, saying, "Not yet, missy. We said we'd wait until after the show, remember?"
Bridgette giggles, saying, "Don't worry about me. I'm going out with someone already."
I scoff playfully, saying, "Yeah, we know. You and Geoff have been together for pretty much the entire show."
Later, after Bridgette left the cabin to grab more of her stuff, Leshawna is tearing through everyone's stuff, exclaiming, "Nobody's leaving until I find out who ate my puddin' pockets!"
Heather says nonchalantly, "I ate them. So what?"
Leshawna exclaims, "Whoa. Pump the brakes a minute! You're 'so what'ing me? That's my food. No one touches my food!"
Heather scoffs, saying, "Whatever. Deal with it. It serves you right for leaving your junk everywhere." She points to one of Leshawna's bras that's dangling from a top bunk, adding, "Especially that. That is bugging me."
Leshawna pushes her chest forward, remarking, "Yeah it'd bug me too if I didn't have anything in the front or back to shake."
Heather exclaims, "Yeah? Well, you've got so much junk in your trunk, your jeans should come with a trash compactor!"
Leshawna rolls up her imaginary sleeves since her sleeves barely reach past her shoulders, and growls, "Ooh, you want a piece of this?!"
The two start tussling, and Bridgette mutters, "Uh oh."
I sigh, saying, "You'd be surprised how often those two are at each other's throats. I think they only barely tolerate each other most of the time because I'm friends with both of them."
Heather finally takes notice that our newest teammate is back, and puts a smile on her face, exclaiming, "Bridgette! It's so good to see you! Come in, come in! Welcome to our cabin. Were like a big family in here."
Gwen adds, "Big and dysfunctional."
I laugh, saying, "Ha! Oh, if you wanna see dysfunctional, you should come to Christmas with my family."
Heather ignores us, adding, "Anything you need, just yell."
Bridgette says, "Thanks for the awesome welcome, Heather."
Lindsay exclaims, "Welcome to the club! It'll be so much fun! As long as you do everything Heather says. Right, Carmen?" She's smacked in the face by Heather swinging one of Bridgette's bags onto the top bunk next to our shared bunk, and she exclaims, "Ow!"
Heather laughs, glaring at Lindsay a bit as she says, "Yeah, we love joking around here at the girl's cabin. She points at me, adding, "Well, it's not just girls here, but you get what I mean. I made sure your bunk was next to mine."
Lindsay exclaims, "Hey! That's my bed!"
She exclaims in pain again as she's smacked by more luggage, and Heather continues, "So we can talk, and share, and really get to know each other."
Bridgette smiles, saying, "Okay, yeah! Hey, thanks, everybody. I can't wait to get to know all of-"
Heather interrupts her again, saying, "Okay! Plenty of time to chat later! Let's unpack."
Lindsay says, "This is great! I bet we're getting along way better than the guys."
I roll my eyes, and plop down on my bed below Heather's. If I know guys, they've probably already bonded for life or something.
Later, Heather pulls out her makeup bag and says to Bridgette, "What's mine is yours. Nail polish, scrunchies, earrings... Just help yourself."
She reaches for the makeup bag, but Heather snaps it shut and moves it out of her reach.
Bridgette says, "Thanks, Heather, but um... I like to keep it natural."
Heather says, "Like my mom always says, a lady can always use a little boost in the looks department."
Leshawna adds, "And my momma told me ain't nothin' free in this world. Watch what you take from this girl, Bridgette. Just about the only one who can freely take her things is the one non-girl in this cabin."
I reapply some grape-scented chapstick that Heather gave me a while ago, and say, "Oh come on, Leshawna. I'm picky about who can borrow my stuff, too."
She rolls her eyes, saying, "That's not what I meant and you know it."
Heather exclaims, "Mind your business!"
Leshawna gets up in her face, saying, "We're a team, and we gotta live in the same cabin, so this is all of our business."
Bridgette jumps between the girls, exclaiming, "Yeah! We're a team! We should be using this as an opportunity to get to know each other better."
Heather snarls, "You wanna play that way? Fine. Be on their side!" She pulls out a roll of duct tape and uses it to make a distinct line across the room, separating half of the bunks from each other and exclaims, "This is my side, and that's your side!"
Leshawna says, "Yeah, that's right. You keep puttin' down that tape. And if you cross it, I'll smack you down!"
Heather says to Bridgette, gesturing at Gwen and Leshawna, "You can choose the weird girls if you want, but just so you know, once you do, you're like, not allowed on our side. Right, Lindsay?"
Lindsay crosses her arms and huffs indignantly in agreement, and Heather turns to me.
She asks, "Right, Carmen?"
I lean against the wall on the side of my bed and shrug, saying, "I couldn't care less. Do whatever."
Gwen says, "Ugh, you're such an enabler."
I roll my eyes, and Bridgette exclaims, "Let's build bridges, not walls!"
Heather says coldly, "Take your pick."
Bridgette stands directly in between both halves of the rooma and looks frantically between both before reluctantly choosing to side with Leshawna and Gwen.
Heather says, "You just dug your own grave."
I scoff, asking, "Isn't that a little dramatic?"
Heather grabs the chapstick back from me and places it back in her makeup bag. I guess she's just in one of her dramatic moods today.
Bridgette says, "Let's try to get along, okay? Otherwise, the guys are going to cream us. Don't you get it?" After getting no response, she mutters, "Tough room."
Around an hour after we were originally supposed to eat, we all gather in the cafeteria again, but now the tables are arranged by gender, if you dont include me.
But when I sit down in my usual spot next to Heather, Chris says, "Oh, yeah, Carmen. Meant to tell you something earlier. Since you're not a girl or boy, you'll be competing on your own team for this challenge."
She ushers me over to a small table against the wall with a collapsible chair like you'd see in a college-aged guy's dorm that's only used for playing card games and extra guests.
When I sit down and lean back into my chair, Chris announces, "It's time for today's challenge!"
Leshawna asks, "Uh, where's breakfast at?"
I add, "Yeah, I'm starving. I'd eat anything at this point."
Chris and Chef snicker again, and Heather exclaims, "Stop doing that!"
Chris says to Chef, "Let's just tell them." Chef nods, and Chris announces, "Today's challenge is... The Brunch of Disgustingness! You'll be getting a nine-course meal. Each member must finish each dish."
I ask, "Wait, finish the whole thing? You're expecting me to eat nine whole courses by myself? What a load of crap. You're just setting me up to fail, aren't you?"
Chris chuckles, then says, "Don't worry. As a smaller team, you're getting smaller portion sizes. For fairness and all that. You will not know if the next dish is grosser than the last, not as gross, or just as gross. Just that it'll likely be... gross."
Chef exclaims in a game show announcer voice, "Tell 'em what they'll get if they win, Chris!"
Chris explains, "The winning team spends two days at a local five-star resort where they'll be pampered, eat gourmet nosh, and be given antibiotics against anything they may have caught while participating in this challenge! The other non-losing team will go hungry tonight and spend the next two days here. On Total Drama Island. With Chef."
Geoff, Heather, and Lindsay gasp, and Heather says to the girls, "We are going to win this challenge!"
Leshawna clears her throat and says, "Take a whiff, boys!" She takes a deep inhale, adding, "'Cause all I smell is victory for me and my girls!"
Owen exclaims, "I'll eat anything! Even my gitch if I have to. Will I have to?"
Chris shakes his head, and I ask, "Wait, you only mentioned the winning team and 'the other non-losing team'. What'll happen to the actual losing team?"
The TV host's smile widens, and he says, "You catch on quick, kid. The entire losing team will be eliminated, leaving the other two teams on the island."
Everyone gasps, and my eyes widen. An entire team eliminated? That's either very good or very bad for me, depending on how I do in this challenge. If I lose, it'll only be me going home. If I do any better than the losing team, I'll get to stay, but 5 other people will be eliminated, and that might include Heather if the girls lose.
Chris says, "Let's begin the challenge! First... Some Hors D'oeuvres."
Chef brings out the first dish, a piping hot dish of giant meatballs, and mine is only one meatball while the other teams have 5 meatballs each.
I say, "Doesn't look half bad, actually."
Owen exclaims, "Alright! Meatballs! Bring it on!"
He shoves one in his mouth as Chris says, "Well, technically, you're right, Owen. But these are kinda special."
I narrow my eyes in suspicion and ask, "'Special' how?"
Chef smirks, responding, "Beef testicle bourguignon."
Owen asks, his mouth full, "Testicles?"
He spits out his meatball, and the girls look at their meat with disgust.
Geoff says, "Oh, I don't know if I can do this to my bovine brother."
They all pick at their meatballs with forks, and I shrug, taking a bite of my meatball, saying, "Eh, meat's meat. Better than most of the food I've had all summer."
Most of the girls at the table to my left are also eating their meatballs with ease, while the boys at the table to my left look like they're holding back tears.
Chris shakes his head, saying, "It's the hardest thing a man can do."
Lindsay says with disgust after taking a single, small bite, "Okay, gross me right out the door! But I could totally use a pedicure at that resort. My corns are growing corns."
Heather taunts, "What's the matter? You big boys can't eat a little meatball?"
Geoff snaps out the dissociation he was in for the last minute or so, and exclaims, "Come on! We can't let the girls or Carmen win! Our manhood is at stake, and I'm not ready to go home yet!"
Trent is the first guy to try a bite of a meatball, and Heather turns to the only girl who hasn't eaten one yet, their newest teammate.
She asks, "What are you doing? Why aren't you eating?"
Bridgette responds, "I'm a vegetarian. It's against my principals."
Heather asks her, "Are you sabotaging the team just to spite me? Well, you're not gonna be the reason that all my hard work goes down the drain."
Geoff suddenly pipes up, saying to the surfer girl, "It's not that big a deal! Sometimes they castrate bulls for, uh... m- medical reasons."
Bridgette sighs with a smile and starts eating her meatball, and I chuckle, joking, "Yeah, like our medical need for food. Or the medical need to not breed anymore."
After a minute, Trent exclaims, "I can't do it!"
Chris says, "Well, looks like the guys lost this round. The first challenge goes to the female campers and Carmen."
I lean back in my chair and smirk at the guys while the girls cheer.
Bridgette says, "Thanks for the talk, Geoff."
Duncan asks him, "Uh, what, you're helping them, dork? You just cost us this round!"
Geoff exclaims, "Yo, it's my business who I talk to! Gimme a break, man!"
Duncan exclaims, "You blew it!"
Geoff defends himself, "C'mon, DJ chickened out!"
Duncan's gaze focuses on the teen in question, narrowing his eyes as DJ slinks away from him.
Chris blows a whistle, then exclaims, "Are we here to argue, or are we here to eat a series of revolting meals?!"
The corner of Duncan's upper lip twitches in frustration before he sighs, saying, "Alright."
Duncan holds out his hand, saying, "Sorry, man."
Geoff shakes Duncan's hand, adding, "Sorry 'bout that, dude."
I roll my eyes, knowing they'll probably just fight later or have some kind of 'manly' contest to 'prove' who's correct.
Chris says, "The score now stands at 1 for the girls and Carmen, and 0 for the guys! And now, the next course in... the Brunch of Disgustingness! You guys like pizza?"
I shrug nonchalantly, and Owen responds, "I could eat pizza any time with anything on it!"
Chris's smile turns smug again, and he draws out, "Anything?" He unveils the pizzas, adding, "How about live grasshopper pizza with tangy jellyfish sauce and live anchovies?"
I grimace as a slice is set down in front of me, and Lindsay exclaims, "Ew, I hate anchovies!"
Leshawna groans, adding, "Ugh. Mm-mm. That is straight-up nasty. I ain't eatin' that!"
Heather says, "Oh, yes you are. I am not missing out on an outdoor heated pool just because you can't keep down a few-"
I close my eyes and reluctantly take a bite of my pizza slice, and when I open my eyes, I see the head of my grasshopper pop off and land in front of Heather, making her scream in surprise. Oops.
She continues, "Grosshoppers! Okay, I can't do this."
Gwen gets up in Heather's face, exclaiming, "I'm digesting a bull's precious cajones! You're gonna eat!"
Heather scoffs, saying, "Fine." She turns to Chef, asking, "Can I get a little parmesan on this?"
The man rolls his eyes and hands her a parmesan shaker.
Heather locks eyes with me, and I say after swallowing, "It's actually not as bad as it looks. I wouldn't ever order it, but... It's surprisingly not the worst pizza I've had."
Heather adds some parmesan onto her slice of pizza, and inhales a deep breath before taking a very small bite.
I can tell she's struggling to keep it down, and she quickly says with a fake smile, "Mm. Delicious." She turns to Bridgette, adding, "You're up next."
The blonde looks like she's about to throw up when she finally brings herself to take a bite, and Leshawna cheers, "Go, Bridgette! Go, Bridgette! Right on, girl!"
While the girls struggle to take small bites, most of the boys have finished a slice, and I'm done with mine, leaving the edge crust remaining on my plate.
Geoff smacks Owen's hand away, saying in a smug tone, "Whoa, big guy! No taking seconds until everybody's had a slice!"
Lindsay whimpers, exclaiming, "There is no way I'm eating that! It's not even food!"
Bridgette comforts her, saying, "Lindsay! Lindsay. Let's try a little yogic meditation, okay? First, get into Lotus position."
She guides Lindsay into sitting cross-legged in the her seat, her arms resting on her legs with her palms facing the ceiling and her pointer fingers and thumbs touching, and she closes her eyes.
She chants, "Ohm... ohm... ohm..."
The next time her mouth opens, Bridgette shoves some of the pizza in her mouth, forcing her to take a bite.
Leshawna exclaims, "Now that's what I'm talking about; teamwork! Slide me some fingers!"
She and Bridgette high-five, and Trent's stomach grumbles loudly.
He gags, saying, "I've got a weak stomach. Uh, be right back!"
He goes outside and I can hear him loudly vomit onto the grass, and he comes back in a few minutes later, a renewed determination in his expression.
He says, "I can do this. DJ, I need you to hold me down, while Geoff, you stuff the slice in my mouth. And no matter how much I scream or beg, you have got to feed me that slice."
The guys exchange looks before Geoff shrugs, saying, "Huh, sure. I'm in."
As DJ securely holds Trent by his arms and Geoff approaches with a large slice of pizza, the restrained teen suddenly exclaims frantically, "No, stop! Wait, it was a joke! I was kidding!" He laughs nervously, and his fear to turns to anger, "I'm warning you, my dad's a lawyer!"
He finally reluctantly takes a bite, and as he swallows, his pupils enlarge, and he looks up at DJ, asking in a child-like tone, "Mama?"
I laugh, and he's released.
Eventually, all the boys have eaten a slice, and Leshawna exclaims after taking a bite of pizza, "O-Okay, you know what? I can't be doin' this! Little grasshopper mindin' his own business. What'd I wanna go around and bite his little head off for?"
She whines, and Chris announces, "The winners of this round... are the guys!"
I exclaim, "What?! I ate my slice! And I was the first team that finished!"
Chris smirks, saying, "You didn't eat the whole course, Carmen."
He points at my leftover crusts, and I exclaim, "Are you kidding me?! That is so not fair!"
Chris ignores me, holding out a covered dish as he asks, "Alright, who's ready for the third course? Spaghetti! Well, actually, earthworms covered in snail slime sauce and hairballs."
I gag at the sight as the dish is set down in front of me, and the smell makes me nauseous.
I exclaim, "I'm sorry, hairballs? You want us to eat hairballs and worms and snail slime?! I'm not doing it!"
Geoff seems to agree with me, and exclaims, "No! I can't take any more!"
He screams and starts running away, and DJ calmly says, "I'll take care of this."
He stands up and chases Geoff, tackling him.
Geoff struggles against him, panting as he finally says, "Okay, okay! I'm good! I'm good."
The two teens sit back down at their table, and Geoff puts a clothes pin on his nose.
He says in a nasally voice, "I love spaghetti. Spaghetti is good."
I don't think even he believes it.
My hand is shaking as I bring my fork to my mouth, some slimy, hairy earthworms wriggling on it. I plug my nose with my pointer finger and thumb, and fight the nausea as I shove a bite of 'spaghetti' into my open maw. After chewing for an ungodly amount of time, I finally swallow.
It tastes awful, but I need to stay on the show. I'm not ready to go home yet. I can feel it coming back up my throat, and hold a hand over my mouth, forcing it back down. I take a few more bites, and before I know it, my bowl is empty. I suddenly start coughing, and hack up a ball of hair like a cat.
I gag at the sight, and Chris announces, "And once again, the winners are the guys, and Carmen's earned another point!"
The guys cheer, and I gulp down an entire glass of water. I don't know if I have it in me to keep going after that one. That was downright revolting.
Bridgette says to her team, "Come on, guys. Let's show them some girl power!"
Gwen adds, "Bridgette's right. Let's kick some boy butt!"
Heather says, "Yeah. Just like I've been saying all along. We've gotta act like a team."
Leshawna rolls her eyes, saying, "Whatever."
Chris says, "Alright, everybody. Time for course number four. No nine-course meal would be complete without soup. Today's special is French Bunyon soup with hangnail crackers."
I fight the urge to throw up at the smell, and just shake my head, muttering, "I can't. Not after the last one."
The girls are all able to finish their soups, Bridgette dumping Lindsay's soup down her gullet with the help of a large funnel.
Lindsay says with a surprised tone, "I didn't even taste it!"
Chris exclaims, "The girls win again! The score's now tied up at 2. Only 5 more courses left. Bon appetit!"
By the time we get to the last meal, I've stomached one more meal without hurling. I have 3 points, and the guys and girls are tied at 4.
We all groan, and Chris announces, "Wow, it's still mostly tied up. Will Carmen be able to catch up and tie, or will they be sent to the Dock of Shame? We're down to the last course in the challenge. It's delicious dolphin weiners. Hot dogs made of dolphin."
I sigh, saying, "Finally, something normal. Kinda."
Bridgette gasps, exclaiming, "But dolphins are our friends!"
Heather opens a ketchup bottle, hissing, "What are you waiting for? It's already dead. If you don't eat it, we don't win."
Bridgette exclaims as she watches me take a bite, "Ooh, I can't! I'm a surfer! I swim with dolphins!"
Heather demands, "Eat it!"
Bridgette exclaims, "No! I'm not doing it. You can't pressure me."
DJ adds, "I'm with you, sister. I'm not eating no dolphin."
I say, my mouth full, "Suit yourselves." I swallow the large chunk of food, adding, "That just means you've let me catch up."
I finish my hot dog, and as I'm licking my fingers, Chris says, "Okay, enough. We'll solve this by having an eat-off."
Chris has the boy and girl teams each pick one person to go up against me in the final challenge, and Chef is rummaging through the kitchen for something, a plugged-in blender on the countertop.
Chris sets up a tray of shot glasses next to the blender as Chef blends up cockroaches into a brown mush.
He explains, "The one who can drink the most shot glasses of fresh, delicious blended cockroach will be the winner, and the loser will doom their entire team to immediate elimination. This unlikely satisfying blend of eight different cockroaches is vitamin rich for your balanced lifestyle."
This is it. It's all come down to this; a sudden death round.
"On your mark... Get set... Go!"
A moment of hesitation is all it takes for Leshawna and Owen to each slurp down a shit of cockroaches, and I quickly reach for one. The taste is the worst I've had today, and I have a visceral reaction to it, bile immediately coming up my throat. I swallow it down with a second shot, my eye twitching in disgust.
As I down my third shot, my hand suddenly stops responding, and I drop the shot glass, shattering it on the ground. I reach for a fourth shift, but my hand is stuck in a claw. I shake my hand to release it's posture, and Leshawna and Owen each down their fifth shots.
I reach for my fourth again as Leshawna suddenly stops moving, her face stuck in a disgusted expression. I suck down my fourth shot, and Owen's eye twitches as he drinks a sixth, then steals the last shot before I can have a chance to grab it, the large teen downing a seventh cockroach shot.
Chris exclaims, "Owen wins!"
The guys cheer, and Leshawna groans. I hold a closed fist over my mouth, trying to keep the bile from being released as Chris claps a hand on my shoulder.
He says, "Gotta admit, you did well, kid. But you still lost."
I solemnly nod, and Heather exclaims at her teammate, "Leshawna, you are completely useless!"
Leshawna says, "Oh, uh oh. Somethin's comin' up."
She vomits across the table, and the sight finally expells what I've been trying to to hold back. DJ also throws up, and it starts a domino effect, affecting every other teen here. I'm allowed to take one last shower to hose off the bile on my clothes, and I start packing up my stuff.
I get a few people, mostly former teammates, saying goodbye to me, but not yet one from the one person I wanted to hear that from the most. As I carry my large suitcases to the Dock of Shame, I start sniffling. Did she ever really care about me, if she can't even say goodbye to me?
I wipe a tear from my eye, and take a deep breath, but before I can take a step into the Boat of Losers, I hear someone call out, "Carmen, wait!"
I turn around to see Heather running toward me from the girl's cabin.
She pants as she stops right in front of me, and I exclaim in surprise, "Heather! What're you... doing here?"
She takes a few deep breaths before finally responding, "I had to say goodbye, didn't I?"
I ask, "Why didn't you say anything when I was packing up? You were sitting on your bunk right above me, and you didn't say anything."
Heather blushes, admitting, "Because... I wanted to do this."
She suddenly grabs my face, pulling me in for a deep kiss. I finally pull away after a moment, my cheeks feeling incredibly warm.
I can only mutter out, "Oh. Wow."
I start smiling like an idiot, and Heather rests her hands on my shoulders as she adds, "I didn't want anyone to interrupt us."
I pull her into a tight hug, and ask, "So does that mean...?"
She responds, "I think it does."
I ask, "So... you're my girlfriend now?"
Heather chuckles, responding, "Yeah." I release her from the hug, and she hold out her pinky, asking, "Partners?"
I link my pinky with hers, adding, "Partners."
Chris separates us, exclaiming, "Alright, alright, enough with the love fest already!"
He shoves me onto the Boat of Losers, and I exclaim as it starts moving away from the dock, "I'll be waiting for you! Win it for me, Heather!"
Heather calls back, "I will!"
My heart is pounding in my chest, and I feel a weight lift off my shoulders that I didn't know was weighing me down. I finally have a girlfriend! And it's Heather! Before I know it, I'm pumping my fists in excitement, releasing my energy through my arms.
But to my surprise, instead of heading back to the docks of Georgia Bay to take me home, the boat instead turns around and heading back toward the island.
I ask Chef, who's driving the boat, "What's going on? Aren't I going home?"
The man chuckles, saying, "Not quite yet. You're going somewhere special for you ex-camper losers."
A rush of fear pangs in my heart, and I feel anxiety making a pit in my stomach. Am I being borderline kidnapped or something? I thought I was supposed to be heading home!
We get closer to the island, and a part of Camp Wawanakwa I've never seen before comes into view. It looks like a paradise, hidden on a small part of the island! Chef drops me off on the docks, and I'm greeted by Izzy almost immediately.
She shakes my hand rapidly, and she calls out to the others, "Guys! They're here! Carmen's here!"
I'm surrounded by pretty much everyone I've met on the island, both friends and enemies alike. They explain to me what this place is, and Izzy and Courtney show me around, and I'm shown where I'm going to be sleeping for however long the show is still running.
I'm asked lots of questions, and pretty much all of them grimace as I tell them who I'm now dating, especially Beth. This place is way better than any hotel I've ever stayed at! If I knew this place existed, I'd have gladly been the first one eliminated if it meant I could live in the lap of luxury all summer.
If only Heather could join me here. But she's out there, fighting to win for me. My girlfriend.
