i really like the idea of post-SV nemona having espeon and penny having midnight lycanroc, but also penny having espeon because she goes outside now, but also penny having some badass pokemon she has posters of in her room while nemona gets more worms and blobby goobers

and arven getting more food themed pokemon (surely he's seen tons of fidough and actively refused to get one and "replace" mabosstiff, though. ignore that maschiff he has in class) and carmine getting the humanoid pokemon she has funko pops of and kieran has like 12 pokemon per playthrough already

i've thought the most about penny, probably because her whole team is just one idea

imagine her getting more steel pokemon (with meteor mash?) as she gets along better with her dad in a post-nemona and arven mindset, or minior because it's a gacha star, or rainbow alcremie to look like her sister,

okay i shouldn't just brush over kieran like that when he has the most noticeable character arc out of any of them and also looks like a hydreigon i just don't know much about his hobbies or family situation outside of his role in the story at all

imagine peonia with shiny (gray) star alcremie to look like penny in return

too bad there's no green electric candy to put on penny's

(did you notice peonia has green pikachu tail earrings to match penny being an eevee fan, by the way?)

it could be cute if nemona got a ralts and it helped her read what people are feeling so she didn't have to (incorrectly) guess but i don't know if it suits her, or if that struggle is something that should be patched over with weird powers

it is very devoted to its favorite person like her, though

i said i'd be rambling more often and these thoughts probably deserve to not be forever buried in an unfinished #HamsLeagueClub spreadsheet with no context provided or worse an altogether unposted story

PS. also weird that nemona never gets an own tempo rockruff that evolves into the form that has her color palette, but i've accepted that midday form works for its own reasons (makes her more clearly sun to penny's moon, has the blue eyes of her namesake flower that she doesn't, etc). it bugged me more when tyme didn't have dusk form either but now she does

pokemon SV's messages are "don't give up when you're tossed aside, reach out and someone'll help you feel lovable again" (including Celestial)

and "get out of your box and discover the real you that you really wanna be"

but also "treasure what you already have or you'll lose it"

After thinking about it more on Twitter I've decided to expand one of my personal, mostly story and postgame focused, Indigo Disk Bingo Cards (the positive one) to 7x7, featuring more QoL features, more stuff to do, fluffy flavor additions, basegame character moments, subtextual/headcanon stuff, etc. that don't seem like they're too obviously guaranteed to happen. Not gonna see much lore or worldbuilding or new character stuff here though, I'll let them do whatever they're doing with that

it might be a while before I'm able to do much with it (it comes up a little in early previews of the Nemona Files so far) but I have this headcanon / interpretation that Carmine struggles to not sound backhanded and snarky with her compliments and just kinda leaned into the mean girl role to pretend it's on purpose and try to own it

and I write kind of a running gag where Nemona either is oblivious to or chooses to ignore Carmine's rude subtext and takes what she says in the best faith she can, meaning they get along perfectly and no one understands how

which I think is a funny compare / contrast with how in their one onscreen canon interaction Penny slips up trying to sass Carmine by saying she's only pretty on the outside and Carmine takes it as a compliment

but anyway, on a more serious note I'd have Nemona be able to bond with Carmine over this, because her own supportive comments towards other students / jealous battle opponents / etc were often taken as patronizing / passive aggressive / sarcastic, and that's part of why her relationship with Arven was so bad before the player came along

(also something something carmine insisting she didn't mean to compliment nemona in their canon club interaction [handshake emoji] arven insisting he's sour when you try to tell him he's sweet after he made food for a crowd of kids)

hey carmine pokemon fans have we made anything fun out of the fact that since she claims to be the best ogre oustin player around there's a pretty good chance she's skilled at riding a stantler around as recklessly as we do with raidon

i can imagine carmine having a theme team going on with alola ninetales froslass and zoroark (hisui or regular) but i also feel like that turns her more into my ice and dark loving OC she already superficially resembles / shares being a mightyena fan with
